Hidden BBC documentary Abused By My Girlfriend will leave you horrified: Here's where victim Alex and his abuser Jordan are now
Alex was 10 days from death when he was rescuedAbused By My Girlfriend is a hidden and harrowing documentary on BBC iPlayer that has recently resurfaced, with viewers now wondering what happened to victim Alex and his abuser Jordan.
The 50 minute-long doc is based on the real life crime case of Jordan Worth, who tormented her boyfriend Alex Skeel to horrific abuse.
By the time he was rescued by police, doctors estimated Alex was just 10 days away from death.

He’d been stabbed, burned with boiling water and repeatedly hit with a hairbrush and hammer.
It is one of the most extreme cases of domestic abuse Bedfordshire Police has ever dealt with.
The documentary is so shocking that, when it first aired in 2019, viewers were left in tears.
Abused By My Girlfriend on BBC iPlayer
Abused By My Girlfriend begins with Alex, a 23-year-old man from Bedfordshire.
Along with his close family and friends, Alex shares his own testimony about how he fell into the clutches of domestic abuser Jordan Worth.

Softly spoken, Alex explains how he grew up “playing football”. He says he “wasn’t really into girls”, but was introduced to Jordan through a mutual friend at college.
“She was very caring, confident, loving. She just showed a real interest in me,” Alex recalls.
The documentary then flashes backwards to fine art graduate Jordan, then 21, being interviewed by police. She’s asked about a large bread knife that she had attacked Alex with.
Throughout the programme, viewers learn how Jordan slowly coerced Alex. She initially told him what to wear and how to have his hair. But not before too long, Jordan began ‘playing mind games’.
The couple welcomed their first child in 2015, a little boy. Over the following two years, Jordan cut Alex off from all contact with his family.
Behind closed doors, she subjected him to a campaign of domestic abuse. Alex was forced to sleep on the floor, food was restricted and he endured horrific violence.

’10 days from death’
Alex recalls how Jordan would throw boiling water over him, causing second and third degree burns. She would also attack him with a hairbrush that she kept in the car.
Jordan also inflicted emotional abuse on Alex. On one occasion she falsely told him his beloved grandad had died. He sobbed for two hours before she revealed she was lying.
Things finally came to a head in 2017, when police were called to the couple’s house by concerned neighbours. They discovered Alex sat on the stairs with a towel wrapped around his arm.
A large serrated kitchen knife was nearby and the bathroom was covered in blood. The couple had just had their second child, a daughter.
Sargent Ed Finn, who convinced Alex to go to hospital, says: “The doctor said that he had 10 days from death. Things couldn’t have got much worse than they were for Alex.”
Alex, who had 118 injuries, was returned home to his family. His mum recalls how he could “barely walk up the path”. She added: “He didn’t even smell alive”.
How long was Jordan Worth jailed for?
In April 2018, Jordan Worth was handed two, seven-year jail sentences for Wounding With Intent and Grevious Bodily Harm, to be served concurrently.
She also became the first woman in the UK to be convicted of Controlling or Coercive Behaviour. She received a consecutive sentence of six months for this offence.
Three months later, at the Court of Appeal, Lord Justice Holroyde said, while the sentence was undoubtedly “very lenient,” it was not unduly so.
In September 2023, it was reported that Jordan had been released from jail, just five years into her sentence. The Parole Board deemed she was no longer a risk to the public.
Her parole hearing heard how Jordan had taken a number of courses to improve her behaviour and address “a tendency to use violence”.

Where are Alex Skeel and Jordan Worth now?
Little is know of Alex Skeel now. It’s believed he still lives in Bedford with his two children from his relationship with Jordan.
What is known is that Alex is an Ambassador for the charity Mankind. The organisation specialises in domestic violence against men.
Meanwhile, Jordan now describes herself as a ‘digital creator’ on Facebook. In 2024, following her release from prison, she shared multiple pictures of herself and a new boyfriend.
