There’s one way to watch The Rookie season 8 early in the UK for free
The Rookie season 8 will eventually come to Sky, but you don't need to waitThe Rookie is back on our screens for season 8, and there’s a lot to sink your teeth into with 18 episodes of the police procedural this year.
Nathan Fillion and the rest of the cast have kept us fed with a new season pretty much every year since The Rookie first started back in 2018.
It’s one of those shows that you start watching casually and end up getting hooked. The trials and tribulations of John Nolan and the rest of the LAPD made for some of the best viewing of 2025 in season 7.
Now, we’re three episodes into season 8 and desperate for more. However, if you’re in the UK, you have to wait a little longer than our US counterparts… or do you?

How to watch The Rookie season 8 for free in the UK
Ordinarily, folk in the UK would have to wait for new episodes of The Rookie to land on Sky Witness and NOW TV. The problem is, it’s already releasing weekly for fans in the US.
That doesn’t have to be the case, though. If you get yourself an effective VPN, you can actually tune in at the same time as those in America.
All you need to do is head to CTV where you can watch The Rookie for free. You’ll need to set up an account, but for the privilege of catching the show early, it’s worth it.
Otherwise, you’ll be waiting until Sky confirms a UK start date for the new series.

What to expect from The Rookie season 8 episode 4
The Rookie season 8 episode 4 is titled Cut and Run.
The synopsis reads: “While out in the city, Nolan and Bailey witness a murder in public and immediately spring into action in the hopes of finding the person responsible; Angela and Wesley have a big life decision that may affect their future.”
It may be a relatively easy watch, but there’s no denying The Rookie hits hard at times. Nolan faces dangerous situations far too often for his liking, but it’s all part of the fun for us.
Now that After the Flood season 2 is over, many will be searching for their next crime-based fix. If that left you feeling broken, and Harlan Coben’s Run Away didn’t hit the mark, The Rookie could be the ideal remedy.
