I, Jack Wright filming locations: The historic Tudor mansion posing as the Wright family's country estate Marston Hall
You can even visit the big house!
BBC One drama I, Jack Wright centres on the fallout following the death of a millionaire and the subsequent battle for his huge inheritance, so it’s unsurprising that the cast and crew set camp in some moneyed filming locations.
The twisty whodunnit introduces the family of Jack Wright, who dies in what appears to be a suicide. His third wife Sally subsequently faces an earth-shattering revelation about her husband’s will – and enormous fortune. In short, Sally discovers Jack had largely cut her out of his final will and testament. As well as his two sons…
As a dog-fight for his inheritance begins, the mother – or rather the father – of all feuds kicks off, and it isn’t pretty. That’s before the apparent suicide starts to look like murder.
Here’s a look at the beautiful filming locations used in the crime drama I, Jack Wright.

Where is I, Jack Wright set?
I, Jack Wright is set primarily in the Home Counties of England, with much of the family and legal drama unfolding at the Wright family’s grand country estate, Marston Hall.
It’s moneyed land, with lush landscapes, sweeping lawns, and mahoosive buildings. The Wright mansion, called Marston Hall in the crime drama, is a central focus of the show. And it was actually filmed in Hertfordshire.
Where was BBC One’s I, Jack Wright filmed?
The U&Alibi and BBC One drama I, Jack Wright was primarily filmed in Hertford, Hertfordshire, and Watford. HFO supported filming in Hertford during April 2024.
Key scenes were also shot in Paris, where Jack’s estranged wife lives. Other filming locations include London, including Lincoln’s Inn Fields.

What house was used as Marston Hall in I, Jack Wright?
Chenies Manor House in Buckinghamshire was used for Wright’s huge stately home Marston Hall. In real life, the building is not a residential home. It’s a Grade I listed Medieval and Tudor house, making it an ideal filming location for period dramas and documentaries. It is open to the public, and tickets are available now.
The estate features beautiful gardens set in different themes, undercroft/crypt and underground tunnels, a priest hole, two mazes, extensive attics, an isolated farm house, a swimming pool, and 400 acres of fields and woodland.
The rooms inside the house are maintained with historic and authentic interior detail and can be used for filming, with prior arrangement with the owners of the house.
Photoshoots, films, TV series, music videos and commercials have used the grounds and buildings as a spectacular backdrop. Other TV shows that have filmed in Chenies Manor include Enola Holmes, Silent Witness, Antiques Roadshow, Spooks, Midsomer Murders, and Killing Eve.
The Netflix historical series The Crown used the manor to portray Chartwell House, the home of Sir Winston Churchill.
