Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua: What time the fight starts in the UK and how to watch

It'll be a late night for boxing fans in the UK...

Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua is the must-watch sports event of the weekend, so make sure you know what time it starts and how to watch it. If you’re lucky, it won’t cost you a thing.

If you asked any boxing fan five years ago if they’d expect to see Paul face off against Joshua in the ring, they’d (rightly) laugh in your face.

Things have changed – except they haven’t. Paul has only lost one fight out of 13 (against Tommy Fury), but his competitors have mostly been athletes without boxing experience or retired fighters.

In the words of promoter Eddie Hearn, “it’s crazy that it’s happening”. Nevertheless, we’re less than a day away from their long-awaited bout on Netflix, so here’s what you should know.

Who will win?

Anthony Joshua is the bookies’ favourite to win, with Oddschecker placing his odds at 2/15.

Paul currently has odds of 17/2, but a draw is the least likely option with odds of 35/1.

On the lead-up to the fight, Joshua told his opponent: “If I can kill you, I’ll kill.” This attracted the ire of Tyson Fury, who branded Joshua a “classless loser” – but Joshua doesn’t care.

“It’s my job, we fight. We have a licence to kill,” he said (as reported by BBC News).

“I’m sure many people don’t understand it but this is what my job is. I just enjoy what I do. Whatever happens, happens – as long as my hand is raised, that’s what’s important, respectfully.”
