Tonight’s episode of Coronation Street (Thursday, March 5), saw Jodie Ramsey be confronted by multiple members of her own family.

Not only Shona, but Lily too, confronted Jodie over her lies and secrets as she tried to explain herself.

But, with members of her own family now onto her, has Jodie just ‘sealed’ her fate?

Lily rumbled Jodie Ramsey’s secret trinket box in Coronation Street

Suspicious behaviour from Jodie sent alarm bells ringing in the latest Coronation Street scenes of Coronation Street, but will her web of lies finally unravel?

At the hospital, Jodie stuck close to Shona and David while baby Harper underwent surgery. Thankfully, the operation proved a success, with Shona revealing that a team of twelve doctors worked together to remove the mass from Harper’s neck.

But while the family tried to breathe a sigh of relief, Jodie found herself in an awkward spot. A mum she’d chatted to the day before approached her in the corridor and asked how Harper was doing. Instead of correcting the misunderstanding, Jodie once again allowed the woman to believe she was Harper’s mum – even casually referring to herself as ‘Shona.’

Unfortunately for Jodie, the real Shona overheard every word.

Marching over, Shona confronted her on the spot, leaving Jodie red-faced as the other woman quickly slipped away from the uncomfortable exchange.

Thinking on her feet, Jodie insisted it was all a simple misunderstanding. According to her, the woman had made the assumption and she’d just gone along with it, claiming she didn’t trust the stranger anyway.

Shona seemed to accept the explanation, suggesting the woman might simply be lonely and struggling. But she also warned that lies like that tend to leave people isolated in the end.

If only she knew the full story…

Later, the drama followed Jodie home when Lily Platt made a shocking discovery. After stumbling across Jodie’s hidden trinket box, Lily demanded answers about the strange contents – including a cut-out photo of Bernie and a copy of Brian’s book.

Jodie attempted to brush it off, claiming she was just protecting herself – and Lily too. But Lily wasn’t convinced, bluntly calling the whole thing ‘insane.’

Desperate, Jodie begged her niece to keep quiet while hurriedly hiding the box again.

With Shona suspicious, Lily unconvinced and Bethany already keeping a watchful eye, Jodie’s secrets might not stay buried for much longer…

Jodie could be a ‘dead woman walking’ in Coronation Street

While Jodie might’ve done an alright job of pulling the wool over Shona’s eyes, the same can’t be said about two of her others family members – Bethany and Lily.

With Lily finding out such a big secret of Jodie’s, she has the power to expose her. But, Jodie’s might do her best at trying to get Lily on her side. Her niece does look up to her, after all.

But, as for Bethany, she’s been quick to see through Jodie’s ‘nice sister’ act and was right to believe that she took Shona’s missing wedding ring.

With so many Platts on her case, tonight’s episode might’ve just been a huge ‘clue’ that Jodie’s the April flashforward murder victim.

Her whole cover now relies on a teenager remaining tight-lipped. So it’s rather unstable. How long can Jodie keep up this act? And, will it all come back to bite her as she pays the ultimate price?

Grown Ups on Netflix: Aisling Bea and Robert Sheehan to star in 'emotional' new Irish family drama based on Marian Keyes' bestseller

Netflix has confirmed that the new eight-part series Grown Ups has started filming in and around Dublin.

This "emotional and very human" drama aims to bring the complex Casey family to life. Grown Ups is based on Marian Keyes' eponymous hit novel, and is being shot in the city she lives in.

One of the production companies tackling this ambitious project is See-Saw Films, which previously won awards for The King's Speech and Lady Macbeth.

The various Caseys are set to be played by well-known Irish actors, one of whom is already known for starring in the hit Irish series Normal People.

Here is everything we know about Grown Ups so far, including the plot, cast, production details, and release date.

What is the plot of Grown Ups on Netflix?

So what is Grown Ups all about? The drama is set in Dublin and follows the lives of the Caseys - a chaotic and glamorous Irish family. On the surface they are the picture of success, but under the veneer, there are some nasty resentments bubbling away.

Everything changes when the golden boy of the family dies unexpectedly. His loss leaves every member of the Casey family reeling. Over the course of the next year, they will each struggle to deal with the pain of bereavement as they fall in and out of love, confront old grievances, and try to deal with the ups and downs of living adult lives.

Netflix's synopsis adds that, "despite their age and responsibilities, the Caseys are far from grown up."

It is unclear how closely the plot of the TV show will follow that of Keyes' novel, but the writer seems to be happy with how her tale has translated to screen.

She told the streamer: "Being part of this, seeing it all come together has been so exciting and so much fun. I'm honoured by the hard work and commitment of everyone involved, I’m beyond grateful for all the care that’s been taken with my characters and most of all, I'm enormously proud."

What was the original novel about?

Marian Keyes' 2020 novel Grown Ups opens with the Casey family gathering to celebrate Johnny's birthday. All is going well until Ed's concussed wife Cara threatens to unravel the whole family by openly speaking about long-kept secrets during a desert course later dubbed 'Sorbetgate'.

From there the story rewinds to six months earlier, and begins to show the reader how different family members are grappling with money, marriage, addiction issues, and love.

Keyes also weaves in contemporary Irish issues, addressing period poverty and the realities of Direct Provision, the Irish system for accomodating asylum seekers.

The Observer praised the novel for being "warm-hearted...and highly entertaining," while the Guardian described it as "comic, convincing, and true". Fellow writer Graham Norton declared it was "funny, tender, and completely absorbing".

Who wrote and produced Grown Ups?

The series has been adapted for television by Samantha Strauss, who is also the showrunner and executive producer. Strauss is the co-founder of Picking Scabs, the production company taking this series on alongside See-Saw Films.

Strauss spoke about the Netflix drama, saying: "I know I'm not alone in being obsessed with every word Marian Keyes has ever written, and it is a true life highlight to be trusted with her characters. James Griffiths, our set-up director, is already crafting something beautiful and very human. I am pinching myself to be in the company of our preposterously glorious cast and our fantastic crew as we shoot here in sunny Ireland."

Directors James Griffiths (Black-ish, Cruella) and Ciaran Donnelly (Vikings, Altered Carbon) are leading the series, while Marian Keyes herself has joined the project as an executive producer.

Helen Gregory from See-Saw films has added: "We're so excited to be working with such a talented cast who we know will bring such warmth, wit and deep emotion to our family of characters."

Where is Grown Ups filmed?

The series is currently being filmed in and around Dublin, which is also where the original novel was set. Marian Keyes has described the process of seeing the setting come to life as "a succession of dreams come true".

She added: "Sam was adamant from the very beginning that the show needed to be shot in Ireland. Seeing it all come together has been so exciting and so much fun. I’m beyond grateful for all the care that’s been taken with my characters and most of all, I'm enormously proud."
