Louis Theroux: Inside the Manosphere has left viewers “speechless”, with one “insufferable” influencer quickly sparking criticism online.

Theroux has never shied away from controversial topics and figures. However, in his own words, the manosphere is the “final boss” of all of his subjects.

The new Netflix documentary follows him as he meets several influencers from the manosphere, a vast community of male internet personalities often propagating toxic masculinity, misogynistic attitudes, and other bigotry.

Andrew Tate never appears in the film, but he spends time with the likes of HSTikkyTokky and Sneako. After watching the doc, there’s one influencer that viewers have particularly struggled with.

Myron Gaines (real name Amrou Fudi) is the host of Fresh and Fit, one of the most notoriously shocking and “poisonous” manosphere podcasts.

In the doc, he can be heard talking about anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, women being “born with value” purely because of their biology, and how he “dictates” when he gets to have sex and his partner makes him a sandwich.

Theroux meets him several times throughout the doc, including a brief interview with his girlfriend Angie. They break up by the end of the film.

Notably, Theroux noticed her discomfort towards Gaines possibly wanting multiple wives, but Gaines says they separated because she wanted a family and he couldn’t do that right now).

When Theroux appears on the podcast (alongside a penis extension expert), he challenges Gaines’ outlook on male-female relationships and baseless claims that a woman’s “body count” could lead to them inheriting DNA.

“That was ridiculous… no one thinks that, that’s insane. When they talk about misinformation on the internet, this is what they’re talking about,” Theroux says.

Viewers slam ‘insufferable’ Myron Gaines in Netflix doc

While all of Theroux’s interviewees have been criticised, some viewers have honed in on Gaines.

“Someone save sweet Angie from Myron. What a tosser. Watching Louis Theroux: Inside the Manosphere,” one user wrote on X.

“Whoever this Myron Gaines guy is… he is one of the biggest [bleep] I’ve ever come across. Everyone needs to watch this new Louis Theroux documentary. These ‘men’ on it are insufferable,” another posted.

“Jesus Christ the part where Theroux does the podcast with Myron, thousands of people are brainwashed by this [bleep]. Burn it all down with these people inside,” a third wrote.

“Myron got owned by Louis,” a fourth commented.

It’s not just Gaines, though. “Watching the new Louis Theroux documentary and I am speechless at this. The fact these disgusting specimens have young lads looking up to them and act the same way is terrifying,” one user wrote.

“Louis Theroux documentary is mental, it felt like an episode of Black Mirror at the end with HS,” another commented.

Gaines has yet to comment on Inside the Manosphere.
