Masked Singer fans 'baffled' over judges 'playing dumb' about Arctic Fox's identity
What an episode of The Masked Singer tonight!The Masked Singer returns tonight with not just one, but two unmaskings after the characters all sing together for the first time.
Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards joined our judges this week as a guest, and she definitely arrived with her thinking cap on!
But halfway through the fun and fans are convinced they’ve worked out Arctic Fox’s identity. The only issue is that they’re not happy with the Masked Singer judges playing ‘dumb’ tonight for TV!
Fans convinced Arctic Fox is Anton Du Beke
Arctic Fox took to the stage to perform Woman in Love by Barbra Streisand
Jonathan Ross guessed Diversity star Ashley Banjo – and the audience went silent in confusion. Maya Jama guessed a Strictly star too – but it was Johannes Radebe. Perrie was next, and she guessed Great British Bake Off star Prue Leith but quickly mentioned it could also be Mary Berry (of course she did!).
Davina McCall is on the same wave length as fans and put down Anton Du Beke, whereas Mo was thinking it could be Sam Ryder!
Fans are sure it’s Anton Du Beke, alongside Davina, but there are a few others believe it could be Jason Donovan behind the mask.
Fans can’t believe the judges haven’t got there yet
While many fans agree with Davina that Arctic Fox is likely Anton Du Beke, they’re loss for words for why the panel is guessing other famous stars!
“How can they not know it’s Anton?! Every bit of the clue package and performance screams Anton!” wrote one fan.
“Don’t understand how judges haven’t heard him so far,” penned another.
“Anton Du Beke 100% for Arctic Fox. Said it from the star,” wrote a third.
“Really wish the judges would stop playing dumb. Arctic Fox is Anton Du Beke and every viewer knows it.”
Perhaps he sounds different in the studio, eh?
What happened on The Masked Singer tonight?
Toastie sang Beautiful Things by Benson Boone, with the judges guessing Alexandra Burke, Chaka Khan, and Beverly Knight. But fans have been convinced they’ve already worked out their identity as Loose Women star Brenda Edwards!
Red Panda’s new clues included wearing ‘goggles’, needing to avoid ‘fluffing their lines’ as well as a link to Africa.
But when they came on to sing Big Girls Don’t Cry by the The Jersey Boys, it was clear that they were putting on a voice to avoid being recognised!
When it came to the judges’ guesses, Mo went for Tom Fletcher, Davina McCall wrote down Hollywood star Sean Bean and guest star Perrie Edwards went with James Corden. However, Maya Jama was convinced it was Ritchie Neville, whereas Jonathan Ross decided it could be Alan Carr!
Next up we had Monkey Business (who told Davina two weeks ago that she knew her!) who sang As Long As You Need Me from Oliver!
Maya Jama thought the London accent meant it was Lily Allen, and Jonathan Ross believes it could be EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite (but did he forget she was Scarecrow in season 1?!). Little Mix star Perrie Edwards assumed the accent was put on and went for American Selling Sunset star Bre Teisei. Mo revealed his brain was leaning towards another EastEnders star – Maisie Smith!
Soap stars and Olympians?
Can of Worms channelled Sean Paul to rap Temperature on stage tonight, getting all the judges to their feet. Maya landed on Olly Murs, Jonathan picked Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson and Perrie went for This Morning’s Alan Titchmarsh. Davina decided it could be One Direction singer Niall Horan and Mo wrote down Jimmy Carr.
Conkers rallied up the crowd by singing I’m A Believer by The Monkees. Mo went for Made In Chelsea star Jaime Laing, but Maya decided she was putting her bets on footballer Wayne Bridge. Jonathan decided a big clue of a cookbook was teasing it was Roman Kemp, and Perrie Edwards was musing it was Jack P Shephard from Coronation Street. Last up, Davina assumed it was Olympian Tom Daley!
