Midsomer Murders series 24 episode 2 guest cast
Jon Culshaw as Bertram Jewel
Jon plays genius writer, Bertram Jewel. He found fame and fortune after publishing his treasure hunt book, Seeker, which promised hidden treasure, worth a life-changing amount, to whoever solved the clues hidden in the book’s pictures.
Bertram’s fortune is quickly running out, and a decade later, the prize still hasn’t been found. Deciding to cash in on his book once again, he arranges a 10th anniversary relaunch, rekindling the excitement for his fans.
However, Bertram’s plans fall flat when a journalist exposes his secret past. The following day, he is found brutally murdered in the woods. But was it a crazed fan who killed him, or someone else entirely?
Speaking of his role as Bertram, Jon said: “He is a bit of a multifaceted fellow. A mix of chancer and charmer. Although he hasn’t made the best choices in life, he’s well-intentioned and wants to get things right.”
What else has Jon Culshaw been in?
Jon is an actor, comedian and impressionist, known for his work on Dead Ringers, Spitting Image, Newzoids and The Impressions Show.

Shaun Dooley stars as Eli Trask
Eli is Bertram’s best friend. Since all of Bertram’s money from his book sales has dwindled, he is now living with Eli, his wife, Danica and their Seeker-obsessed son, Ludo.
As Bertram’s friends gather in the picturesque, puzzle-obsessed village of Mods Mire for his book relaunch, there is drama when the author’s dark past is revealed.
Did Eli know his friend had been to prison 24 years ago? And did he know that his beloved friend’s real name is Robert Grimes?
What else has Shaun Dooley been in?
The easier question really is: what hasn’t Shaun Dooley been in? Shaun is a familiar face on British TV, having starred in Coronation Street and EastEnders during the late ’90s and early 2000s.
He played police inspector Dick Alderman in the Channel 4 crime series Red Riding and Reverend Michaelmas Winter in Sky One drama, Jamestown.
And let’s not forget Broadchurch, It’s a Sin, Innocent and Gentleman Jack, to name just a few other top British dramas he’s appeared in.

Farm shop owner Danica is concerned when her son Ludo’s obsession with finding the treasure that Bertram has allegedly hidden is reignited after the writer announces a new clue is being released.
However, when Ludo is one of the last people to hear from Bertram before he was brutally killed, it seems there could be more than just tracking down the missing treasure for Danica to worry about.
