If you loved Seven Dials, Netflix just added 2 of the best Agatha Christie shows of all time
Seven Dials was just the beginning...
Netflix may have just released Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials, but it’s now dropped two of the best shows based on the author’s work ever made.
Since the ‘queen of crime’ published her first novel, there have been well over 50 adaptations of her books.
Some are truly great, like 1974’s Murder on the Orient Express, 2020’s The Pale Horse, and of Kenneth Branagh’s efforts, A Haunting in Venice remains the greatest of his Poirot portrayals.
Perhaps you loved Seven Dials too (despite its ending’s big change from the book). However, the two best and most iconic adaptations are hard to argue – and they’re on Netflix now!

Agatha Christie’s Poirot and Marple arrive on Netflix after Seven Dials success
You can watch every episode of Agatha Christie’s Poirot and Marple on Netflix now.
Poirot first aired in 1989, with David Suchet portraying the titular tache-twirling detective across 13 series and a whopping 70 episodes.
By the time the final episode aired in November 2013, the series managed to complete the entire Poirot canon, with only a handful of short stories not directly adapted.
Marple originally aired on ITV between 2004 and 2013. Geraldine McEwan played the elderly sleuth for three series, with her episodes adapting the likes of The Body in the Library, Sleeping Murder, and Nemesis (directed by Drive’s Nicolas Winding Refn, no less).
When McEwan retired, Julia McKenzie took on the mantle for the remainder of the show. When she was cast, Christie’s grandson Mathew Prichard said he could imagine her playing Marple “with exactly the right balance of sympathy and intelligence”.
Marple isn’t as much of an undertaking, with six seasons and 23 episodes in total.
That said… they’re not insubstantial. Each instalment is around 90 minutes long, so you should be all set for a while.

What’s new on Netflix this weekend (January 23-25)
If you haven’t watched it already, Skyscraper Live is available to stream after its January 23 livestream. In short, it’s a two-hour event following Alex Honnold as he climbs a 1,700ft building without any ropes or safety equipment.
That’s not all. Chatroom, a disturbing 2010 thriller starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, will be available to stream tomorrow (January 25). It also has two Skins alumni: Daniel Kaluuya and Hannah Murray.
Don’t be led astray by the 9% Rotten Tomatoes score – if anything, you should be curious.
Ordinary Angels, Hilary Swank’s uplifting and acclaimed 2024 drama, will also drop on the platform tomorrow.
Kidnapped: Elizabeth Smart was added to the platform this week, if you haven’t watched it yet. It’s a true-crime documentary about the titular woman’s disappearance and her horrific ordeal at the hands of Brian David Mitchell and Wanda Barzee.
