It Takes Two host Fleur East reveals BBC 'snub' as she admits she wasn't even considered as new Strictly presenter
It Takes Two is also believed to have been scrapped this year…
Fleur East has broken her silence on reports that Emma Willis has been offered the job as one of the new Strictly Come Dancing presenters.
Singer-turned-presenter Fleur has co-presented Strictly spin-off It Takes Two since 2023. She was also rumoured to be in the running to host the main show following Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman’s exit.
However, amid reports that Emma Willis and Johannes Radebe will soon be announced as the new Strictly hosts, Fleur has revealed that she was never actually considered for the role, despite being part of the Strictly family.
As a result, she’s been left feeling “kind of bothered” over the ‘snub’.

Fleur East wasn’t considered as one of the new Strictly presenters
After Zoe Ball revealed she was “grieving” after being rejected for the role, Fleur shared her feelings. Speaking on her Hits Radio Breakfast Show, Fleur said: “I did say initially, after Tess and Claudia announced they were leaving Strictly you know, it’s probably not going to happen [for me] and I’m happy for whoever gets it.”
However, now that Emma is widely expected to land the role, Fleur’s feelings have changed. Although she has no hard feelings towards telly legend Emma.
“We were just talking about Emma Willis being announced and I was like: ‘Yeah, great, amazing,’ and I’ve kind of lied to myself that I’d be all right with not doing it or not being considered for the job. But I’m kind of bothered.
“I think it’s okay to admit that. And I think it’s okay to admit that being faced with the opportunity of such an incredible job. I mean, it’s an amazing show.”

Fleur East admits: ‘I was like, they might call me one day…’
Fleur added that she was proud to have been “a part of the family” in her role as a contestant in 2022 and as a presenter of It Takes Two. However, she did admit that her work with the BBC show meant it felt like she was “within touching distance” of the main presenting job.
“I never allowed myself to really go fully there, but I did think about it. I was like, that would be amazing. So yeah, I guess I have been lying to myself when I’ve been saying: ‘I’m fine. I’m coming to terms with it.'”
She went on to admit: “I was okay before it was kind of confirmed that someone’s got the job. Until it was confirmed, I was like, well, they might call me one day. They might do all the tests and they go: ‘Actually, yeah. We haven’t seen Fleur. Let’s give her a little call.’ But it’s gone to the right person.”
End of the road for Fleur’s Strictly spin-off It Takes Two?
As well as not even being considered for the Strictly presenting role, it’s also been reported that both Fleur and her It Takes Two co-host Janette Manrara have both lost their jobs on the spin-off show.
It is reported to be undergoing a huge overhaul, with speculation it’ll return as a visual podcast.
As a result, both Fleur and Janette have removed “#Strictly It Takes Two” from their Instagram profiles. The move seemingly confirms that the spin-off will have new hosts too.
