As Phil turns his back on his best friend, EastEnders confirms a special reunion for Nigel next week

Today's EastEnders was a heartbreaking watch...

Today’s emotional episode of EastEnders saw Nigel moving into a care home. But as he struggled to settle in, the enormity of what was happening weighed heavily on his loved ones.

The very special standalone episode saw Julie and Phil realise Clare and Lexi had taken Nigel back to the Square in a taxi without telling them.

As Julie panicked about Nigel’s safety, Clare realised that she couldn’t cope with Nigel, especially as he still didn’t recognise who she was.

Luckily, Lexi was on hand to soothe Nigel, and the pair got him home to Walford in one piece. Lexi had messaged on the community group chat and gathered all Nigel’s friends for a farewell party in The Vic, so everyone was gathered outside the pub when his taxi arrived.

Nigel went to The Vic for the last time in EastEnders

Nigel seemed overwhelmed by all the fuss, and as everyone recalled their funniest Nigel memories in The Vic, he couldn’t remember much and struggled to follow the conversations.

Julie and Phil eventually arrived, and while they were pleased Nigel was safe, Julie and Clare had another falling out. It was only after they had a heart-to-heart in the pub toilets that Julie finally softened towards Clare and realised just how much Nigel’s not recognising her was hurting.

Trying to make amends, Julie talked to Nigel, reminding him of when he used to take Clare swimming on a Saturday morning. She talked about how they’d buy doughnuts on the way home and there was a flicker of recognition for Nigel as Julie relayed her story. For a brief minute, Nigel finally remembered who Clare was, and they shared a lovely moment at last.

A heartbreaking goodbye

When the time came to take Nigel to his new home, everyone gathered around to wave him off. Julie stayed behind to collect his belongings while Clare and Phil went ahead with him to the care home.

However, once there, Nigel struggled to settle. He lashed out at the nurses, shouted at Phil and hit Clare, leaving her with a bleeding lip and a broken heart.

The enormity of what was happening hit Clare and Phil. Struggling to cope, Clare left and told Phil she would visit, while Phil broke down.

Phil opened up to the nurse that this wasn’t how things should be for his best friend and that Nigel deserved better. When he admitted that he couldn’t cope seeing Nigel like this anymore, the nurse suggested he had carer burnout and that it was common. She suggested he had a bit of time off while Nigel settled into the home, and Phil was devastated.

Knowing the time had come to say goodbye, Phil went to see Nigel, who was in his room, sleeping. Phil told his best friend that he loved him very much, but that he couldn’t look after him anymore, and held his hand in a silent farewell.

The drama continues next week for Nigel in EastEnders

Next week sees Phil still struggling to cope with Nigel being in a home. He tries to distance himself from what is happening by refusing to visit and takes Sam to her radiotherapy session to look busy.

Even when Lexi asks her grandad to take her to see Nigel, Phil still won’t budge. However, Lexi and Nigel finally get their reunion when Julie and Callum agree to take her to the care home instead.

But, Lexi isn’t coping as well as everyone thinks, and she is soon avoiding school because she misses Nigel. Will she be okay?

How much?! The eye-watering cost to eat at Gordon Ramsay’s new restaurant and what you actually get for your money

Gordon Ramsay is seen opening a 12-seater exclusive restaurant in his new Netflix series - but how much does it actually cost to eat there?

The TV chef's new show, Being Gordon Ramsay, follows him on his biggest venture to date.

Gordon has acquired the top section of the iconic 22 Bishopsgate in centre London and he has plans for five separate entries there.

The most extravagant is Gordon Ramsay High, which sits a staggering 60 stories up in the air.

Diners can expect a three Michelin star tasting menu while seated among just 11 other customers. And the views are incredible.

But how much does it cost to eat at Gordon Ramsay High? And what can you expect for your money?

Gordon Ramsay on Netflix: What is Gordon Ramsay High?

Gordon says in his Netflix show that Restuarant Gordon Ramsay High (RGR High)  is a "12 seater unique dining experience".

Diners can expect a Chef's Table experience, with the open kitchen located right behind where they are seated.

Gordon explains: "RGR High is a unique space. Guests get to witness what it;'s like up close and personal with a chef. And that intimacy takes a completely different beast to deliver.

"The job might look easy. ;12 covers come one, this is.. no, it's not."

He adds: "This is an open kitchen. We aren't depending on a group of waiters. RGR Hugh is about delivering perfection each and every night. Serving 12 customers only."

How much does it cost to eat at Gordon Ramsay High?

There is a sample menu on the RGRH website, with a set price of £250 per person.

For that, diners can expect eight individual dishes. The sample menu features plates of Imperial gold caviar, 14-day aged farm duck and twice-baked cheese soufflé.

Other tasters include turbot, scallops and a cheese and onion Parker House roll. There's champagne sorbet and a chocolate orange dessert to finish.

But what do customers actually think?

RGRH opened last summer and the reviews have been great. One happy customer wrote in Top Table: "Incredible. Expensive but worth it the view was next level."

Another added: "What an outstanding menu! The culinary team did an amazing job preparing our tasting menu. The food was amazing and creative."

However, someone else said: "This is a restaurant that is banking on you enjoying being ‘high up’. The views are… disappointing in that you can see Tower Bridge and that’s about it.

"Granted we went at night so it was dark and unfortunately the windows steamed up off and on throughout the meal so what you did see was through a ‘fog’. But the food was superb."
