Cain begged Sarah to change her mind in Emmerdale
In the visiting room, Charity drops two bombshells on Cain – Leyla isn’t Sarah’s and she didn’t kill Todd. Naturally, he’s completely shocked. But he understands that if he doesn’t get Sarah to change her statement, then Charity could be going down for a murder she didn’t commit.
He headed back home and called Sarah around to his. There, he tried to make her see that nobody is justifying what Charity did. But if Sarah doesn’t change her mind then she has taken it a step too far.
While Sarah tried to act as though what Cain was saying to her had no effect, it was clear she was starting to feel guilty over her actions.
She explained that she wanted Charity to suffer for breaking her heart. And even brushed off the severity of it all by suggesting she could just plead not guilty.
Cain got more and more annoyed and told Sarah that she had to do the right thing. But Moira walked in, and Sarah told Cain that she hates Charity, storming out.
Later, Cain broke the news to Charity that he didn’t manage to get Sarah to change her mind. And the realisation dawned on them both that Charity could be going down for a really long time.

Emmerdale spoilers reveal what happens next
However, Emmerdale spoilers for next week confirm that Sarah actually hits breaking point. Mackenzie is desperate to save Charity, and so he and Chas call a family meeting.
While there, he decides that blackmailing is the way to go. He tells Sarah that if she doesn’t change her statement then he will tell Jacob who the real killer is. But even Cain tells him he has gone a step too far.
But seriously affected by everything that happened, Sarah heads home and breaks down to Jacob. Finally, she tells him the truth about everything. How will he react to the shocking bombshells?
While this is happening, Charity hits rock bottom in prison, as her ordeal just keeps getting worse. A lockdown takes place, which means a cell search. Officers discover white powder in her cell and Charity is subjected to a humiliating full-body search.
But the incident causes a PTSD-induced panic attack and Charity is put into segregation. How much more can she cope with?
