Strictly star Anton Du Beke on It Takes Two tonight
Tonight’s edition of It Takes Two saw Anton make an appearance to answer questions from the viewers.
During the interview, the star was asked about his move from being a professional dancer on the show to one of the judges.
“Do you wish you were still taking on teaching a celebrity?” Janette Manrara asked on behalf of a viewer.
“I have to tell you, I loved it. I loved it,” he confessed.
“You know what it’s like. Being in the studio, with Kate [Garraway, who was on ITT tonight], is the loveliest thing. You’re there all day, you’re together, you’re doing it together,” he then continued.

‘I loved it’
Anton then went on, saying that “normally,” when teaching someone to dance, “off they go, do an hour’s lesson, off they go and do their competition.
“But this is so unique,” he went on to say. “Because you teach them, but you’re also going to go up and perform with them. This is something you wouldn’t do normally.
“So you’re a partner and a teacher. But mostly a partner. But mostly a teacher. But mostly a partner. And a little bit of a psychologist.”

“But it’s wonderful, and you’re doing it together,” he then added.
“And that’s the bit I love. Some of the dances I’ve done over the years, I’d be happy to never do again, but one or two of them, I enjoy,” he said.
Anton went on to cite Lewis’ 40-scoring dance over the weekend, saying in moments like that as a pro dancer, “you go ‘I’d rather be here than anywhere else in the world’. This is exactly what it’s all about.”
“When it comes together, it is magical. But I prefer judging,” he then quipped.
Anton also opened up about having to be head judge and having the casting vote in the dance-off.
“I prefer not to do it,” he said. However, he admitted that the change to how the judging works is “brilliant”.
