Strictly set for ‘revamp’ this year as show embarks on ‘new chapter’ with hosting trio
Exciting times ahead!Strictly Come Dancing’s ‘revamp’ details have been revealed, including a new “sleek” set and why there are three new hosts…
The glitzy BBC One show is set to return to screens later this year for a brand new series. In addition to several pro dancers getting the chop, there will be three brand-new hosts to welcome viewers every Saturday night.
And now, an insider has spilled all about what fans can expect from the upcoming series. And things will reportedly be looking different…

Strictly’s major revamp ‘explained’
According to reports, the look, set-up and general delivery of the new Strictly series are set to be shaken up. As for the biggest change? Reportedly, this will be the main dance floor which could become much more high-tech.
Talking to The Sun, an insider claimed that bosses aren’t ditching the “traditional presentation” of the show but “the way it is delivered”.
They explained: “It’s going to get a more sleek, impressive set. But it will still be all about fun, glitz and sparkles. They aren’t trying to turn it into the set of Star Wars.
“But it would have been strange not to have made some change to the look of the show, given that the programme is starting a new chapter with so many other new elements.”
It’s believed many of the visuals would be shown on much larger screens, which would dominate the surroundings of the set.

The set-up is similar to the UK tour of Strictly: The Professionals. This included a staircase and band that were in the middle, with giant screens surrounding them.
Apparently, the change would give bosses the chance to implement spectacular visual effects. This could be similar to those seen on the US version, Dancing with the Stars.

Strictly’s new backstage area
Strictly is also getting three band new hosts Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe, and Johannes Radebe. And this is reportedly down to three areas that need to be covered: a new backstage element, the Clauditorium and the main dance floor.
“The behind-the-scenes element partly comes from the excitement of the Instant Dance challenge, which most viewers loved and saw the hosts and contestants moving from the main dance floor into the dressing rooms and added a new sense of energy to the show. Also, it lends itself more to providing content for the show’s social media channels, which is an element which will prove crucial for producers.”
The publication also claims that the backstage element is likely to see the stars prepare and rehearse for their routines.
Despite the alleged changes though, the Clauditorium area will not be drastically changed. This is where celebs and pros find out their scores and chat about the routines.
However, it is not known if the name will remain, following host Claudia Winkleman’s exit.
BBC has been contacted for comment.
