The Chase fans call for Shaun Wallace to 'retire' following 'embarrassing' episode
Ouch! The Chase returned to ITV on Tuesday (January 27) evening with a new episode, and it seems Shaun did not impress viewers.
Host Bradley Walsh returned and welcomed four new players — Becci, Matthew, Shenagh, and Toby — who all went head-to-head with Shaun, also known as The Dark Destroyer.

The Chase last night
First up was Becci, who struggled to find her rhythm in the cash builder. Things quickly went downhill during her head-to-head with the Chaser, who caught her out within minutes.
Matthew then followed. Keen to avoid the same fate, he too found the cash builder challenging.
After a quick team discussion, Matthew chose the low £1,000 offer and, in a tense one-question showdown, just about managed to book his place in the final.
Momentum then swung in the team’s favour thanks to Shenagh, who impressed viewers with her breadth of knowledge. She stormed through the cash builder to collect £5,000 and successfully defended it in the head-to-head, lifting the team’s total to £6,000.
Rounding out the lineup was Toby, who stepped up after securing a solid £4,000 during his cash builder attempt.
Despite hearing his teammates’ advice, he chose to ignore it and take the risky high offer of £84,000. The gamble didn’t pay off, as he was caught by the Chaser after just four questions, leaving only Shenagh and Matthew to take on Shaun in the final chase.

Shaun Wallace during the Final Chase
With just two players making it to the Final Chase, it was down to Shenagh and Matthew to try win £3k each.
In the ultimate round, the duo only managed to answer 12 questions correctly within two minutes, which typically is game over for players on the show.
However, luck was nearly on their side when Shaun struggled to catch the team of two.
That said, with just seconds to spare, the Chaser beat Shenagh and Matthew, and they went home empty-handed.
Following a rollercoaster game, viewers reacted passionately online over Shaun winning the game on the skin of his teeth.

‘They should think of replacing Shaun’
“If that was just another day at the office he needs to put in some serious overtime,” one user wrote on X.
“That was really bad from Shaun, Jenny got 12 with 1 min left yesterday,” another person insisted.
“Shaun making a target of twelve look difficult in a way that only Shaun can,” a third joked.
“Shaun having another absolutely horrendous day at the office,” a fourth declared.
“They should think of replacing Shaun as a Chaser, he’s got way worse at this lately,” a fifth said.
Meanwhile, another echoed: “Embarrassing from Shaun, anyone else would retire.”
