The Crow Girl on Paramount+: Release date of series 2 confirmed as Katherine Kelly and Eve Myles return as lovers in thriller

The Crow Girl was one of the most thrilling crime dramas of 2025 – not least because of its amazing ensemble cast – and we’re excited to share that series 2 is coming soon.
Paramount+ has released first look pictures of the upcoming episodes, as well as finally confirming a start date. And we don’t have long to wait.
The first series landed in January 2025. Based on the bestselling book by Swedish crime writer Erik Axl Sund, it introduced DCI Jeanette Kilburn, who was called to investigate when the bodies of unidentified young men started to show up. They were beaten and full of the anaesthetic Lidocaine.
She enlisted the help of psychotherapist Dr Sophia Craven to hunt the killer. And the investigation subsequently took them “down a dangerous path of historical abuse, murder and dark secrets”.
Viewers will know that Jeanette and Sophia became close… But little did the detective know that she was sleeping with the enemy. Here’s everything you need to know about The Crow Girl series 2 ahead of its upcoming release.
The Crow Girl series 2 plot
Series 2 of The Crow Girl follows on from the chilling events of series 1. Picking up the morning after the events of series 1, Bristol Police detective Jeanette Kilburn has ended her marriage and found herself in bed with enigmatic psychologist Dr Sophia Craven.

She investigates when a mummified body is discovered in a church wall, as well as a body in a freezer – and they have a chilling connection.

The synopsis tells us: “As Jeanette digs deeper, Dr Sophia Craven begins to suspect Victoria Burkeman, her mysterious and unstable former patient could be responsible. With the case growing darker, Sophia suspects Victoria is more familiar than she thought, and Jeanette must face the terrifying truth: the killer may be closer than she ever imagined.”
Paramount+ tells is season 2 will be “just as intense and emotionally charged as the first season”.
What’s the release date?
The returning series will premiere on Monday, July 20, 2026 exclusively on Paramount+ in the UK and Ireland.
Paramount+ has not yet revealed if all the episodes will be dropping as a boxset, or if they will air week by week.
Who’s in the cast?
Eve Myles returns as DCI Jeanette Kilburn in the cast of The Crow Girl series 2. Of course, she’s best known for her roles in Gone, Torchwood, Coldwater, The Hack, and Keeping Faith.
Katherine Kelly, star of Corrie, Mr Bates vs The Post Office, and In Flight, reprises her role as Dr Sophia Craven in the thriller.
Victoria Hamilton, who recently played the lead role in The Teacher series 3, will also be back as Superintendent Verity Pound.
Also returning to their roles are The Rising’s Clara Rugaard as Victoria.

How many episodes will it be?
The second series of The Crow Girl will be 6 episodes of 60-minutes each.
This is the same as series 1, which was also six episodes.
