The Night Manager is back after a nine year absence, and series 2 is a very different story with a cast of new faces joining some of the first season’s favourites.
The first six episodes aired in 2016, and introduced Jonathan Pine, a hotel manager turned spy who “became a criminal himself” to catch an arms dealer. Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie and Olivia Colman starred in the tense, stylish thriller from spy writer John Le Carré.
Series 2 catches up with Jonathan – now living as Alex Goodwin, a low-level MI6 officer running a quiet surveillance unit in London. His life is comfortingly uneventful and he thinks he’s buried his past. However, that all changed when he sees an old enemy… Jonathan is subsequently led to a violent encounter with a new player: Colombian businessman Teddy Dos Santos.

Who is Roxana Bolaños in The Night Manager series 2?
In the spy thriller, Jonathan Pine meets Roxana Bolaños, a businesswoman working as a shipping broker out of Miami. She reluctantly helps Jonathan infiltrate Teddy’s Colombian arms operation. Once in Colombia, he is plunged deep into a deadly plot involving arms and training of a guerrilla army.
Who is Camila Morrone?
Camila Morrone is an American actress with Argentine parents who are both actors. But you only have to take one look at her to see she’s made a fortune as a model, too. Los Angeles-born Camila, now 28, has modelled for Victoria’s Secret, and walked the runway for Moschino. She’s appeared on the cover of Vogue Turkey, and has posed for Calvin Klein, and Chanel.
As an actress, she made her film debut in the James Franco film Bukowski in 2013, and went on to appear in the movies Never Goin’ Back, Death Wish, Mickey and the Bear, and Valley Girl.
However, she is probably most famous for playing Camila Alvarez-Dunne in the Prime Video series Daisy Jones & the Six in 2023. The role earned her a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award.
You also need to know that Camila used to call Al Pacino her step-father. Her actress mother Lucila Solá had a long-term relationship with the actor between 2008 and 2018. Camila isn’t a stranger to famous boyfriends either. She dated Leo DiCaprio for five years until they broke up in 2022.

Who is Teddy Dos Santos?
Colombian businessman Teddy Dos Santos is a new player in the arms dealing industry. In fact, he is described as “Richard Roper’s true disciple”. Jonathan Pine must don a new identity as a reckless Hong Kong playboy bold enough to win the trust of Teddy Dos Santos and his team. But as Pine gets closer to Teddy, he uncovers another figure pulling the strings – Gilberto Hanson, a terrifying local arms dealer whose reach extends to the heart of London’s intelligence community.
What is Diego Calva famous for and where is he from?
Mexican actor Diego Calva Hernández, 33, is probably best known for playing Arturo Bertrán Leyva in the crime drama Narcos: Mexico. On TV, Diego is also known for playing El Rubio in El Recluso, Joshua in Unstoppable, Erik in The Secret of the River, Marcus in Midnight Family, and Juan Olvera in Prison Cell 211.
His also been in multiple films, including Bird Box: Barcelona, and the black comedy drama Babylon. He received a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for the role of Manny Torres.

Who is Sally?
Sally works in the Night Owls, alongside Alex Goodwin (aka Jonathan Pine). She is loyal, and smart, and agrees to help Alex track Teddy Dos Santos, even though it’s not strictly their job. They are a nocturnal surveillance unit who are paid to watch, not act.
What TV has Hayley Squires done before?
London-born Hayley Squires, 37, plays Sally in the cast of The Night Manager series 2. The actress started her career as Maureen Warren in an episode of Call the Midwife in 2012, before going on to play Louise Cooper in gritty drama Southcliffe.
In 2016, she played Katie in the award-winning Ken Loach film I, Daniel Blake which was her standout ‘here I am’ moment. She was quite rightly nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Hayley subsequently portrayed Laurie Stone in Collateral, Cornelia in The Miniaturist, and the leading role of Jolene Dollar in Adult Material.
More recently, she’s played Martha in The Essex Serpent – which also starred Tom Hiddleston – and Sara in Great Expectations, opposite Olivia Colman! So The Night Manager is something of a double reunion for Hayley.

The character of Mayra is brand new to series 2 of The Night Manager, and has been shrouded in mystery. She works for the government and oversees the Night Owl operation. But are her intentions entirely honourable?
What is Indira Varma famous for?
Bath-born Indira Varma, 52, is perhaps most famous for playing ill-fated Ellaria Sand in Game of Thrones. Yep, she was the lover of Pedro Pascal’s character Prince Oberyn Martell.
Indira is also known for portraying Niobe in the award-winning period drama Rome. She played the beautiful wife of Lucius Vorenus in the HBO series, which ran from 2005 to 2007.
The actress has been on our screens for three decades, having made her very first TV appearance as Maya in the 1996 film Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love. It was quite the spicy leading role to mark her debut!
Indira has also appeared in Psychos, In a Land of Plenty, Attachments, The Whistleblowers, and Luther.She played Zoe Luther, Idris Elba’s wife. She gets all the best jobs!
More recently, the actress has played the Duchess of Pemberton in Doctor Who, Ingrid Farrow on Obsession, Khadija Khan in The Capture, and Tala in the Star Wars spin-off Obi-Wan Kenobi. Coldwater fans will know she played Fiona in the ITV thriller.

Who is Basil?
Basil is another new character joining the cast of The Night Manager series 2. He works alongside Mayra for the government. at first, it’s unclear what his motives are.
What is Paul Chahidi famous for?
Iranian-born actor Paul Chahidi, 56, is very well known on the theatre circuit, but comedy fans will most definitely know him best for his role in BBC Three’s This Country.
From 2017 to 2020, he played well-meaning vicar Francis Seaton opposite Charlie Cooper and Daisy May Cooper. The perpetually exasperated Rev remains one of the best comedy characters of recent years. How he kept a straight face is beyond us.
Other notable TV roles include Anthony in Ladies of Letters, Ron in The Hour, Sandalphon in Good Omens, and Domitius in Britannia. More recently, he’s played Hamid in the comedy Chad, about a 14-year-old Persian boy who desperately tries to fit in, cope with his mother’s dating life, and figure out his cultural identity.
The Royal Shakespeare Company actor has been nominated for both an Olivier award and a Tony Award and has won multiple other theatre awards. In film, Paul played defence minister Nikolai Bulganin in Armando Iannucci’s 2017 historical comedy The Death of Stalin.
Who is Adam Holywell?
The character of Adam Holywell is new in The Night Manager series 2, and is teased as a “middle man”. Also known as an “alternative foreign office”. He is seen meeting with dodgy criminal Jaco Brouwer, who works for Teddy Dos Santos.
What has Kerr Logan been in before?
Northern-Irish actor Kerr Logan, 37, portrays Adam Holywell in the cast of The Night Manager series 2. Strike fans will know him as Robin Ellacott’s controlling and cheating husband Matthew Cunliffe. He played between 2017 and 2022.
Kerr made his name playing Matthos Seaworth in Game of Thrones, before playing real life singer Feargal Sharky in the 2012 film Good Vibrations. He went on to appear in 6Degrees, London Irish, Alias Grace, Victoria, and Dead Still.
More recently, he’s portrayed James Thornley in Showtrial, Aidan Kenny in North Sea Connection, DS Luke Nash in The Killing Kind, and Ollie in The Boy That Never Was.
The Traitors fans may know that Kerr’s mother Diane and brother Ross took part in the series. In fact, they were probably the stand-out stars of that year. Diane and Ross took part in 2024. And fans of the show were rubbing their hands in glee when Diane revealed her real son Ross was also appearing on the show. Biggest twist EVER!
Who returns in the cast of The Night Manager?
For The Night Manager series 2, Marvel star Tom Hiddleston, 44, returns as Jonathan Pine. He also acts as executive producer. Of course, Tom is A-List now, having portrayed Thor’s brother Loki in the Avenger films, as well as getting his own spin-off show.
The always brilliant Olivia Colman, 51, reprises her role as intelligence officer and Jonathan Pine’s mentor Angela Burr. She’s known for being in everything brilliant, including The Peep Show, Broadchurch, The Bear, The Crown, Fleabag, and Flowers. We could go on but, frankly, we’d be here all day.
Rising star Noah Jupe stars as Richard Roper’s son Daniel. The former child star, who is still only 20, has already appeared in The Undoing, A Quiet Place and its sequel, and Downton Abbey.
Sex Education’s Alistair Petrie, 55, plays Lord Sandy Langbourne, while Penny Dreadful’s Douglas Hodge, 65, returns as Rex Mayhew. Lastly, Traces actor Michael Nardone returns as Frisky.
Although 66-year-old Hugh Laurie does not return as Richard Roper, he acts as executive producer.
Is Elizabeth Debicki in The Night Manager 2?
Actress Elizabeth Debicki is not returning as Jed in The Night manager series 2. Frankly, it looks like Jonathan Pine has his hands full with sexy Roxana anyway!
At the end of series 1, Jonathan and Richard Roper’s girlfriend Jed had fallen in love. However, Jed planned to return to the States to be with her son, and the pair said goodbye promising to see each other soon. But it looks like circumstances kept them apart. Im the trailer for The Night Manager series 2, Jonathan tells Roxana: “I have a bad record with people I get close to.”
Tom Hollander won’t be returning as the fabulously toxic Lance Corkoran either, nor will Hugh Laurie be back as Richard Roper. Jonathan killed Lance in series 1, while Richard was left in a seriously compromising situation in the series finale. It’s no secret that he turns up dead in series 2.
