Tom, who was originally from Luton, Bedfordshire, first appeared as Duggan in Doctor Who in 1979.

Doctor Who actor Tom Chadbon dies aged 80
Fantom Events said on Monday that Tom passed away last weekend. The publishing company had worked with him as a client.
The company wrote: “We are sorry to hear the news that Tom Chadbon passed away last weekend.”
It added: “Tom was a familiar face to many from his numerous television and film credits, including Doctor Who, James Bond and Game Of Thrones.”
The tribute continued: “He was always a warm and friendly man to work with and we send our condolences to his family at this sad time.”
Tom also appeared in Peep Show and the James Bond film Casino Royale. He also built a long list of credits across television and film.
His other roles included Sherlock Holmes, Midsomer Murders, The Bill, Foyle’s War and Where The Heart Is. He also played High Septon Maynard in Game Of Thrones, one of his final roles.

‘How incredibly sad’
Fans quickly shared their own memories online. Many described him as “warm and friendly” after hearing the news.
Actress Lisa Bowerman, who appeared in the BBC show alongside him, paid tribute on social media. She wrote: “Oh no… I hadn’t heard. How incredibly sad. He was wonderful.”
Fans also posted messages of sympathy. One wrote: “Oh I’m so sorry to hear this. He was a great actor. RIP.”
Meanwhile, another said: “No way. Lovely person. RIP. 2026 has been the worst year”.
“Oh dear, what a great actor he was. RIP Tom,” a third remarked.
