Traitors star James Baker has revealed a secret nod he made to his late friend following her tragic death.

He has now spoken about her death and shared his sadness at not being able to “share this bonkers adventure” with her.

James has, however, secretly paid tribute in a recent episode.

The Traitors’ James reveals tragic death

James opened up about the death of his friend in a heartfelt Instagram post.

He posted a picture of himself sat at the Round Table while wearing a T-shirt featuring prints of guitars. In the show, he teamed it with a yellow checkered shirt.

James wrote alongside the snap: “For those of you who know me and my family…

“This T-shirt was given to me by a truly incredible human being, who was taken from us far, far too soon.

“As truly heartbreaking as it is that she never got to share this bonkers adventure which she’d have bloody loved, I was glad to carry a little piece of her along with me for the ride.”

This is the first time James has mentioned the death of his friend. Even during Friday night’s dinner party, while others were sharing emotional stories about their lives, James stayed quiet.

Fans have since showered James with support. They have posted red love heart emojis in the comments second, along with “love you” messages.

James’ future on The Traitors

James has had a fairly trouble-free ride in this year’s series of The Traitors.

He has managed to stay out of the spotlight for most of the show’s run, apart from when he pinched a shield a Mission last week.

James’ guilt got the better of him after the sneaky move and he confessed to his team mates. This all but cemented the players into believing he would make a terrible Traitor.

At the most recent Round Table, he voted for Matthew to be banished. The majority went to Ellie, however, and she as sent packing.

James might have got it wrong with Matthew, be he was adamant Ellie was a Faithful.

When Claudia Winkleman announced Ellie had been banished, James shook his head and said: “It’s not her, it’s not her.”

He was right… but how long will he remain in the game?
