Waterloo Road fans reveal 'insane' plot to bring Tom Clarkson back from the dead
Tom Clarkson has been dead for nearly 13 years... but what if he came back?
Waterloo Road has a knack for killing off beloved characters – but fans have never recovered from Tom Clarkson’s death, and they want him to come back.
Think about all the characters we’ve lost over the years. In the revival alone, there have been five deaths – including Chlo, the late wife of Donte, who died in the first episode.
Danny Lewis, a troubled young boy who overcame all sorts of obstacles in his personal life to pursue education, also died. Hope Drake, Stella’s granddaughter, passed away after a severe allergic reaction.
However, Tom (played by Jason Done) has been dead for nearly 13 years. What if there was a way for Waterloo Road to bring him back?

Waterloo Road fans divided by ‘multiverse’ idea to bring back Tom Clarkson
Multiverses are usually associated with Marvel or DC. However, if (some) fans got their wish, Waterloo Road could introduce its own “alternate timeline”.
On the show’s subreddit, one fan (u/AdLad6) proposed an enormous retcon that’d pave the way for Tom’s return.
What if, as the fan suggests, the BBC announced that the revival was “actually set in an almost identical alternate timeline”?
Everything that’s happened thus far would remain canon, with one difference: “Tom didn’t die, he just left,” the Redditor wrote.
“He’s still alive and returns in the new series… would you go along with this explanation or would it be too much to accept?” they asked.
Now, Waterloo Road has embraced some outlandish storylines; best (or worst) of all, the move to Scotland. However, this would be a crazy twist, and as one fan commented, “I can’t decide if I love it or hate it.”
“It would he cool to see him but we ALL saw him drop dead so like… yeah,” one user wrote. Another user, more candidly, added: “No, it is silly.”
“I’d stop watching it. As jarring as Scotland is – it’s just too much for one character,” a third user warned.
Yet, despite the concerns, others would be happy to see Tom again. “I totally would,” one fan wrote.
“Sounds great honestly,” another user commented.

How and when did Tom Clarkson die?
Tom Clarkson died in series 8 episode 30 (aired on July 4, 2013), after falling from the school roof.
More specifically, he was trying to help Kyle Stack (played by George Sampson), who was threatening to kill himself.
He’d just been discharged from a young offenders institution, and let’s just say, he wasn’t exactly welcomed back to school with open arms.
So, he took himself up to the roof and stood on the edge. Tom tried to comfort him, and promised he’d help Kyle “every step of the way” if he climbed down.
Kyle took Tom’s hand, but as he stepped down, they both slipped. Kyle lost grip of Tom’s hand and he plummeted to the ground in front of all the teachers and pupils who’d gathered on the ground.
