Who kidnapped baby Tate? All the suspects as Emmerdale fans ‘work out’ shocking plot twist
Fans are convinced there could be a huge returnEmmerdale fans are convinced they have worked out a shocking twist that solves the mystery of who kidnapped baby Tate.
During the additional Sunday night episode, Emmerdale aired a sinister twist, with Graham leaving baby Tate alone for a few minutes, only to return and find him gone.
While Kim and Graham are determined to figure out who was responsible for the kidnapping, Emmerdale fans already have their own theories. And some of them are very wild.

Who kidnapped baby Tate in Emmerdale?
Graham rushed to Home Farm to show Kim the note that instructed them not to involve the police. However, Thea happened to be paying Kim a visit, so Kim decided to fill her in – off the record.
While Thea was initially against helping Kim without involving the police, Kim made her realise she was the only hope. And so, she agreed to do whatever she could to help.
Obviously, viewers know that Thea is Kim’s biological daughter, whom she illegally put up for adoption as a baby. Over the last few months, Thea has been determined to make Kim pay, so naturally, fans are suspicious of her.
But Emmerdale fans have been desperately trying to work out who kidnapped baby Tate. And after some of them watched today’s episode on ITVX, many predicted a huge twist.

1. Thea is the number one suspect in Emmerdale
While viewers know the truth about Thea’s relationship with Kim, the Home Farm legend is still completely unaware. So, when Kim realises Thea has been poking about quite a bit, she immediately suspects she is responsible for the baby’s disappearance.
Obviously, fans also believe Thea is the obvious suspect in baby Tate’s kidnapping. However, Emmerdale spoilers have confirmed that a showdown between Kim and Thea leads to the former believing her story.

2. Could Sarah have kidnapped baby Tate for Thea?
But while Thea may not be the one who directly kidnapped baby Tate, many Emmerdale fans are convinced she is still connected to it.
Not that long ago, Sarah blackmailed Thea into removing evidence so that Charity could get out of prison. And while Thea went along with it, she made it clear to Sarah that if she needed something, Sarah would owe her.
Taking to social media, one fan theorised: “I was thinking Sarah because of Thea’s threat that she owed her for getting Charity out of jail…”
Another agreed: “I think it’s Sarah doing Thea’s dirty work. She ‘owes’ her. Although the kidnapper looked like a different person than Sarah.”

3. Has Serena intervened to stop Thea?
Other Emmerdale fans agree that it could be someone connected to Thea. So, a few of them think her best friend Serena has kidnapped the baby to stop Thea from risking her own job.
While Serena has been trying to talk Thea out of doing anything crazy, it did seem like she knew more about the cottage than she let on.
One fan penned: “I felt like the kidnapper looked vaguely like Serena. But that’s only because I’m looking for similarities. She could be doing it for Thea?”

4. Did Gabby kidnap baby Tate in Emmerdale?
However, with there being an emphasis on Thomas’ teddy bear falling off the sofa, some fans think Gabby is out for revenge after being shunned by the family.
But how would Gabby know about baby Tate being in the cottage? Well, Emmerdale fans believe the teddy could have a listening device or a camera inside, allowing her to keep tabs on what was happening.
One fan theorised: “Gabby. I think Thomas’ stuffed toy has a listening device inside. She is annoyed they kicked her out.”

5. Has Joe Tate kidnapped his own baby in Emmerdale?
In the same episode as the kidnapping, Kim surprised Joe with tickets to Morocco. He seemed genuinely grateful for the gift and even shared a very awkward hug with her!
But some fans are convinced he became aware of Kim and Graham’s secret and decided to get revenge on them for going behind his back by kidnapping his own baby.
One fan theorised: “I did think it could be Joe.”
Another agreed: “I think it could be Joe who stole the baby to torment and punish Kim and Graham for lying to him.”

6. ‘Clues’ point to a possible Jamie Tate return
But in today’s ITVX release (October 26), Emmerdale fans are convinced there were numerous ‘clues’ that actually pointed to a shock return.
Once again, Thomas’ toy comes back into the theory. But this time, the theory focuses on his father, Jamie, instead of Gabby. The theory was heightened when Kim was looking at a silver spoon that Jamie owned as a child.
Jamie has been off-screen since his exit in 2021. But over the years, fans have been convinced he would one day return. And if he found out his mum had kicked his son out but had been caring for her great-grandchild, he could want revenge. The sudden mention of him did seem important.
One fan penned: “That mention of Jamie. Could be nothing or could mean something.”
Another added: “I sense Jamie Tate is about to return to Emmerdale. Kim having Jamie, Thea and Joe all under one roof would be extremely chaotic.”

7. Fans predict Jodie from Coronation Street twist
However, Jamie isn’t the only person the most recent episode hinted at. Graham was told to go back to the cottage by the kidnapper.
But when he arrived, he opened a door and was clearly stunned by whatever was in the other room. And now, Emmerdale fans think his connection to Jodie from Coronation Street is going to be fully explained, as many believe she was the one who kidnapped baby Tate in Emmerdale.
Jodie has been off-screen in Corrie for a few weeks now, after Shona and David discovered the extent of her manipulation and lies. So, this could be the perfect time for her to enact revenge on the man who had her tied up in a van during Corriedale.
If this is the case, then it’s no surprise that Graham looked so shocked by whatever he witnessed.
Talking about the potential huge twist, one fan penned: “I think it’s Jodie from Coronation Street.”
Another agreed: “Jodie from Coronation Street would be the best answer. She has a problem with Graham and they have never explained their history properly.”
“My guess after Graham’s reaction tonight is Jodie from Coronation Street. It’s something she would do.”
