Channel 5 has made a big shake up to its schedule which means 22 Kids and Counting is not on tonight – and here’s why.

Fans of the Radford family will be disappointed when they tune in to see their latest escapades and find the programme has been replaced.

This series has been an emotional one so far.

Sue and Noel’s daughter Sophie has split up with her husband Joe.

Their 18-year-old son Josh has also been battling mental health struggles after being diagnosed with agoraphobia.

So why is 22 Kids and Counting not on tonight? And when will it be back? Here’s what we know.

22 Kids and Counting on Channel 5: Series 8

The new series of 22 Kids and Counting only started last month and there has been three episodes so far. The series opener focused on Sophie’s relationship breakdown with Joe.

They were approaching their 10th wedding anniversary when they shocked the Radfords by announcing their split. Sophie tearfully admitted: “There won’t be any going back. Enough’s enough. It’s not very nice. You marry someone to spend the rest of your life with them.”

This was followed with a special episode dedicated entirely to Sue and Noel’s son Josh. His mental health was in decline and health anxiety was setting in.

Sue and Noel desperately sought advice from medics and mental health charity workers before he was diagnosed with agoraphobia.

Finally, last week, it was the turn of Millie and her husband Harley to be in the spotlight. Harley revealed he had suffered Bell’s palsy, which caused his face to droop on one side, and he was struggling to get back to work.

Millie surprised him with a new pet dog, but it was touch and go as the pooch developed medical problems. Sue and Noel ended up flying back from a luxury holiday in Dubai to save the day.

Why is 22 Kids and Counting not on tonight?

Sadly, viewers will have to wait for the next instalment of the Radfords’ reality show. It, together with a whole afternoon and evening of telly shows, has been wiped out by a big schedule change.

Channel 5 is instead airing the third quarter-final of the Live Snooker: Players Championship from 12.30pm. The snooker will cut for an hour-break at 5.30pm for 5 News at 5. It will then return for the fourth quarter-final from 6.30pm until 9pm.

22 Kids is usually on at 8pm, meaning it has been dropped.

When is it back?

The good news is, 22 Kids and Counting will back on screens next week. The series picks up again on Channel 5 on Sunday March 1, 2026.

The next episode follows Sue and Noel Radford’s 16-year-old son Max, who is facing his GCSEs. Max is autistic and, although he’s a maths and physics whizz, he struggles to grasp English.

He has ambitions of becoming an engineer, building everything from planes to submarines. But could a fail in English scupper his dreams?

22 Kids fans will also catch up with Ellie Radford, as she approaches her first anniversary with boyfriend Steven. Cracks are appearing and they are on the rocks. Oh dear!
