The Loose ladies have been absent all week, leaving viewers wondering what has happened to the show.
Loose Women has been on and off screen all year following big cuts at ITV in January.
And now it’s not on again. Here’s why – and when you can expect to have Loose Women back.
Why isn’t Loose Women on today?
Loose Women was last on air on Friday July 17, 2026. Since then, bumper-length episodes of This Morning have been running in its slot instead.
This Morning usually begins at 10am and finishes at 12.30pm, which is when the Loose ladies take over. Their show then runs for an hour, with a finish time of 1.30pm.
But This Morning is now airing from 10am until 1.30pm each day, giving fans a huge 3hrs and 30 minutes show. But why?
Due to financial cuts at ITV Daytime, it was revealed earlier this year that Loose Women and fellow daytime show Lorraine would no long run the full length of the year. Previously both programmes would air every single week apart from at Christmas.
However, in a major change, Loose Women will now air for 30 weeks of the year. This means there are 22 weeks when it will not be on during a 12 month period. And the summer is one of those!
The Loose Women panel have therefore been given the summer off.
When will Loose Women be back?
Show anchor Kaye Adams confirmed their extended break as the sound of a school bell rang out at the end of the show on July 17.
“Class is over! Ding, ding, ding, that’s the bell gone,” Kaye said. “That’s the bell for the end of term. For us as well, we’re done for the summer.”
She then confirmed Loose Women will be back in September.
Kaye added: “We will not be gone for long, we will be back in September. For now, have a fabulous weekend, a fabulous summer and we’ll see you very soon!”
ITV is yet to confirm the exact date Loose Women will be returning. However, it is most likely to be on Tuesday September 1, 2026. This follows the August Bank Holiday Monday and coincides with the schools going back.
