Emmerdale reveals ‘surprise’ baby Tate kidnapper in early release as fans declare ‘great twist!’
Shocking spoilers includedEmmerdale has finally revealed who kidnapped baby Tate in its shocking ITVX early episode – and it’s not Thea.
Warning: This article contains spoilers for tonight’s episode. The episode has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch on ITVX or YouTube.
It’s been a very stressful few days for Graham and Kim as they scrambled to find baby Tate. After receiving a ransom note and a demand for £100K, the pair knew they had to do whatever it took.
But today’s episode of Emmerdale has revealed the true kidnapper. And many fans are absolutely gobsmacked.

Baby Tate’s kidnapper revealed in Emmerdale
Kim and Thea were both at Home Farm when they heard more banging around the house. But when Thea didn’t seem too concerned, Kim started getting suspicious.
She accused Thea of having it in for her since the crash that killed Dawn and Jimmy, so she immediately assumed Thea was the one who had taken baby Tate.
Thea denied all the accusations, but when she told Kim that she deserved what was happening, Kim was more adamant than ever. The pair got into a scuffle, and eventually, Thea was stabbed.
While Thea was bleeding out, Kim realised she was telling the truth and that she wasn’t the kidnapper after all. But will she be okay?
Meanwhile, Graham was shocked to find numerous photographs of baby Tate hanging from the ceiling in the cottage. He was then told to go to the stables. And it was there that he found baby Tate – and his kidnapper.
In a huge plot twist, Joe emerged from the shadows and told Graham: “Happy Halloween. Looks like I’m not the only one who has been tricked.”

Emmerdale fans ‘shocked’ at the truth
Emmerdale fans had quite a lot of theories about who the kidnapper of baby Tate could be. But it seems not many of them actually thought Joe could be responsible.
Taking to social media after the reveal, fans shared how shocked they were.
One fan penned: “Great twist! I never actually expected it to be Joe.”
Another added: “OMG. It was Joe all along?!”
“I’m actually surprised it was Joe who kidnapped the baby. It will be interesting to see what happens next between him and Graham,” another fan penned on Reddit.
However, a few fans thought the twist was actually a bit predictable rather than shocking.
One wrote: “Ugh, the ending was so obvious.”
Another added: “Predictable as ever!”
While we now know the truth, the reveal has still left viewers with quite a few questions. Will Joe decide to keep the baby now? Can he forgive Kim and Graham? And will Thea be okay?
