The BBC presenter has headed off to sunnier climes…Why is Matt Tebbutt not on Saturday Kitchen live today (Saturday, March 7)? Today’s episode is going to look slightly different, with a new host set to front the programme.
Matt Tebbutt, who usually hosts the show, is absent today and is being replaced by Alex Jones. But where is Matt this week?
Where is Matt Tebbutt on Saturday Kitchen
Last weekend saw Matt host the show as usual. There was no mention of him being absent the following weekend.
However, a look on Matt’s Instagram revealed that last weekend’s show wasn’t presented live – and was in fact, pre-recorded!
The reason the show wasn’t broadcast live as usual is because Matt is currently enjoying the sun in Australia.
In a post for his 142k followers to see earlier last week, Matt shared a snap of himself feeding kangaroos and koalas in Brisbane.
“So I’ve turned wildlife photographer and kangaroo whisperer @lonepinekoala @queensland #brisbane #koala,” he captioned the post.
Over the last few days, he has also shared snaps of himself enjoying a glass of wine with a beach view in Queensland, and feeding cockatoos on Hamilton Island. And, of course, there have been plenty of snaps of some of the food he’s been enjoying while in Oz.

Matt Tebbutt ‘reveals’ why he isn’t hosting Saturday Kitchen
Fans were quick to wish Matt well on his trip. However, some were curious about who would be hosting Saturday’s programme.
“Matt, this looks amazing! Hoping it’s a well-earned break….but guess something worky will be thrown in as well. So @ollysmith holding the reins on Saturday?” one fan asked.
“Who’s on Saturday Kitchen this weekend?” another asked. It was at this point that Matt revealed: “We pre-recorded the show!”
However, the reason behind Matt’s trip Down Under has yet to be revealed. One thing we do know, however, is that it’s not to film a TV show. Matt confirmed as much when a follower asked, “Are you doing a food show over there?”
“I wish,” the TV star replied.
Alex Jones will be hosting the show today. It’s unknown when Matt will return to host the show again.
