Daniel to lose Bertie as social services swoop in after fire horror in Coronation Street
Daniel's letting his parenting of Bertie slip
Tonight in Coronation Street (Tuesday, June 2), Daniel Osbourne was meant to be looking after son Bertie when a fire broke out.
With Daniel asleep on the sofa, Bertie tried to use the microwave but it ended up exploding cause causing the flat to quickly fill with smoke.
With Adam coming to the rescue, it isn’t long before social services are on the case in the weeks to come.

Daniel’s flat fills with smoke in Coronation Street
Daniel’s nightmare week went from bad to worse as shocking scenes saw him left unconscious in a smoke-filled flat while young Bertie wandered off alone.
Earlier in the day, Jodie attempted to calm Daniel’s fears over the messages posted by Truthteller, insisting that the person behind the account probably never intended to meet him face-to-face. However, Daniel quickly realised that only Jodie knew about his plan to arrange a meeting with his online troll.
Convinced he had uncovered the truth, Daniel publicly accused Jodie in the Rovers of being both Truthteller 1 and Truthteller 2. As locals watched on and urged Daniel to sober up, Jodie strongly denied being behind the second account.
Back at the flat, Jodie finally admitted that she had created the original Truthteller profile. Hurt by Daniel’s plans to ask her to leave once Bertie returned home, she confessed that she had targeted him online so she could then support him and remain close to him. Despite her admission, Jodie insisted she knew nothing about Truthteller 2 and claimed somebody else had taken over the trolling campaign.
Furious over the betrayal, Daniel ordered Jodie to leave immediately and warned her not to come back. Jodie then returned to the Platts’ house, where her attention once again turned towards David.
After everything that had happened, Daniel headed home and passed out, despite being responsible for looking after Bertie.
Feeling hungry, Bertie tried to sort out his own dinner and attempted to use the microwave. Disaster struck when it exploded, filling the flat with smoke. With Daniel refusing to wake up, Bertie left the flat and headed over to Ken’s house in search of a biscuit.
Thankfully, Bertie mentioned what had happened. Alarmed, Adam grabbed the spare key and rushed to Daniel’s flat, where he found the property full of smoke. But even when Adam shouted that there was a fire, Daniel remained unconscious.

Coronation Street spoilers see Daniel lose Bertie as social services arrive
Later on in the week, spoilers confirm that Daniel panics when he loses Bertie. Receiving a phone call from the school, he realises that his son never turned up.
Daniel is soon criticised by the Barlows on his parenting ability, being compared to Peter and his alcoholic ways.
This leads to Daniel lashing out and actually hitting Ken in the face. Adam and Tracy then fear that Daniel’s unable to cope and take action.
It isn’t long before social services then turn up at Daniel’s door, ready to have a chat with Bertie. Will Daniel lose Bertie for good though? Or, can he prove that he’s able to look after his son with some support?
Strictly Come Dancing week 2: Some BIG surprises and Tom Skinner's not-so surprising departure!
From Ross King impressing the judges with his tearful waltz, to Balvinder Sopal almost doubling her week-1 score with an impressive charleston, to Tom Skinner's silver vest and Stefan Dennis's wig - there was a lot to talk about!

Strictly Come Dancing: Amber on top!
One of the less surprising aspects of this weekend's show was that West End star and Strictly newcomer Amber Davies topped the leaderboard with her partner Nikita Kuzmin.
Amber - who was celebrating her birthday yesterday - and Nikita danced a samba this week. They scored 29 from the judges. That was added to their 27 for the waltz from last week, and left them topping the leader board with a combined score of 56.
No one was surprised to see Amber impress the judges. As a musical theatre star, she is experienced at performing and dancing.
"It does seem a bit unfair," one viewer commented.
Really like Amber Davies but it does feel a bit unfair on the rest of the contestants when she is THAT good #Strictly

Alex and Jojo wowed the judges in Strictly Come Dancing
But Amber and Nikita weren't the leaders from week 2. Instead it was Doctor Who star Alex Kingston and her partner Johannes Radebe who were top after last night's show.
They also danced a samba, scoring 31 from the judges! That was a whopping 10 points improvement on last week's dance. Impressive stuff!
The fans loved it too, with one viewer calling their dance "pure joy"!
The pure joy of Alex Kingston doing the Samba 😃

Ross got emotional
Alex and Johannes weren't the biggest improvers this week, though. First up was a teary Ross King and his partner Jowita Przystal. They danced a waltz, which didn't score massively high - winning 15 points. That was an improvement on last week's 10, though!
But that didn't matter to an emotional Ross, who said he was the poster boy for people who can't dance, but want to dance.

Craig was kind!
Judge Anton Du Beke called his dance "super duper" while notoriously mean Craig Revel Horwood said he loved what Ross was trying to achieve in the dance.
"No matter what I saw you need to keep going, darling," he added.
Ross King is what #Strictly is about, complete novice having fun and embracing the emotion of the dance. Lovely comments from Craig. Technically pfft... but so moving.

Charleston cheer!
EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal also wowed the audience and judges alike with her cheerful charleston.
She and partner Julian Caillon scored 30 from the judges - a big improvement on last week's 17.

It wasn't a big surprise to see Tom and Amy go (Credit: BBC)[/caption]
But the first celebrity to leave the show was Apprentice star Tom Skinner and partner Amy Dowden. He had to dance off against former England rugby captain Chris Robshaw, and judges opted to save Chris instead.
Tom had been a controversial addition to the Strictly line-up, and it was no surprise to see him saying goodbye to the competition so early.
One fan used Tom's own catchphrase to joke about his early departure.
"Tom Skiner is out first," the viewer shared. "Bosh."
