While the soap usually airs early on ITVX and YouTube on the day of transmission, there will be no early upload today. Yes, that means the nation will be gathering around their tellies at 8.30pm to tune in together for the big reveal. Betsy finds a dead body (Credit: ITV) Coronation Street murder reveal will not air on ITVX early In today’s episode of Coronation Street, the show will mark the end to a string of flashback episodes. In the fifth episode of ‘murder week,’ the actual murder victim will be revealed. Betsy will stumble upon a dead body by some scaffolding, with it being clear that a murder has taken place. Despite fans being eager to know who doesn’t make it, the soap will actually refrain from airing on ITVX and YouTube early. Viewers have grown used to being able to watch the episodes from 7am each weekday, but that’s not the case today. Instead, the murder reveal will air on ITV at 8.30pm-9pm tonight. The murder is revealed tonight (Credit: ITV) Coronation Street fans divided over lack of early release episode Some fans turned on their TVs and phones early this morning to watch the episode, only to be met with disappointment. Taking to social media upon the realisation that the episode wasn’t there, the upset viewers shared their frustrations. One fan commented: “Poor decision – I’m going out tonight and won’t be able to watch at 8.30!” Another fan agreed: “That’s not good, it’s no early release.” A third person added: “So we don’t see the murder until Friday, and they don’t show the episode early on ITVX on Friday… ….and I’m out on Friday!” However, others were happy about the move. One person wrote: “Good decision, nothing better than watching Corrie live with other fans at the same time, no risk of spoilers. Looking forward to tonight’s episode.” Another added: “This is a good thing. I’m glad they’re not showing it early.
