In today’s Coronation Street episode on ITVX (Friday, May 22), Summer Spellman’s fate was revealed after her alibi fell through for the night of Theo Silverton’s death.

Summer had hoped that Tyrone Dobbs would be able to back up her story but unfortunately Tyrone ended up lying to the police.

With Summer having no solid alibi, DS Connor-Swain then warned her that she’d likely go to prison before her trial..

Summer’s plan to prove her innocence in Coronation Street

Summer was terrified today in Weatherfield when she was questioned once again by DS Connor-Swain.

Lisa asked her once more where she was on the night of Theo’s death, and why she’d lied to the police about not seeing Theo before he died.

Summer admitted that she knew it made her look like a suspect so she wanted to leave it out of her story. She promised she didn’t kill Theo.

Once the subject of her brooch was brought up, Summer admitted it must’ve fallen off when Theo grabbed hold of her. It was then that a bit of Theo’s blood must’ve fallen onto it.

Lisa then wanted to know more about Summer’s altercation with Theo. But, Summer promised her that she left Theo alive in the flat and managed to run away from him.

Tyrone fails to back up Summer’s story in Coronation Street

Thinking back to that night, Summer then remembered that she’d gone to pick up her smashed up phone when Tyrone saw her on the Street. He even looked up at the flat window and saw Theo staring out.

Lisa then popped over to visit Tyrone and asked him if he could help Summer out. She wanted to know if he’d seen her on the Street on the night of Theo’s death.

Acting shifty, Tyrone told Lisa that he hadn’t left the wedding at any point so Summer must’ve mixed him up with someone else. However, a flashback then proved to viewers that Summer was telling the truth. Tyrone had seen her that night. And, she had left the flat with Theo still alive.

With nobody to back up Summer’s story though, Lisa informed Summer that she was likely heading to prison ahead of her trial. But, can anything be done to prove her innocence?
