While the return of Greg Dolan dominated much of this week’s EastEnders review, another Walford figure found themselves in grave danger – even if he didn’t know it. After asking some dangerous questions, George was targeted by a moody Ravi.

Elsewhere, Julie tried to talk sense into out of control Joel, and the soap revealed Jay’s whereabouts.

Here’s everything else that happened on EastEnders this week.

EastEnders review: Kojo doesn’t want to go to Luton

As the week began, George had grown freshly suspicion of all the comings-and-goings at Kojo’s flat. Realising the locks had been changed, he stormed over and demanded answers from Harry and Okie.

Harry explained the situation to Ravi over a delightfully cosy little dinner, and was shocked by Ravi’s reaction. While it would have been easier to just move the operation out of Kojo’s flat, Ravi was set on putting George out of action.

Thankfully, the stars aligned with the offer of a boxing commentating gig outside of Walford, which he reluctantly accepted. That particular problem had been solved, but another one loomed. Harry and Kojo were horrified when Okie enlisted the latter on a drug-dealing daytrip to Luton.

And just when we couldn’t hate Okie anymore, he topped it off by leaving Kojo there. In Luton. By the time a traumatised Kojo returned, he was fuming with both Harry and Okie.

Will Ravi and Okie’s machinations separate our favourite bromance?

Julie looks frustrated as she talks to Joel

EastEnders review: Julie tried to talk sense into Joel

Vicki was at her wits’ end with Joel. Left to look after him while Ross put in an extra shift, she was run ragged with his wild child behaviour.

After stealing Vicki’s credit card, Joel and Tommy headed to Birmingham to attend a Drake Zagan podcast recording. Vicki and Kathy set off in hot pursuit, arriving at Letherbridge Arena (sound familiar?) where Drake Zagan’s redpiller convention was in full flow.

Naturally, the arrival of two strong and thoroughly unimpressed women didn’t go down well with Zagan’s followers, although Kathy took the little men in her stride. Back home, an exhausted Vicki turned to local schoolteacher Julie for help.

And, as a vicious confrontation took place across the road, so another rigorous debate took place between Julie and Joel. For all the explosive Slater drama, these scenes proved to be the week’s most powerful, finally utilising Julie – and actress Karen Henthorn – in a role separate from Nigel’s Wife.

And, for a while, it looked as though she was getting through to Joel. Kudos to actor Max Murray too, who did a sterling job of showing the sad, lonely little boy hiding beneath the facade of a teenage mysoginist.

Joel wouldn’t be so easily deprogrammed though. And, after Julie had left – and inspired by Tommy’s lie – he issued Vicki another threat.

Goodbye, Jay

Amid all the off-screen drama with actor Jamie Borthwick, the soap revealed what’s become of Jay Brown lately. In a low-key scene between Lauren and Peter, she explained that he’d gone to visit his sick grandpa, Bert.

Is this it for Jay?
