Between Ravi’s arrest, Nicola discovering that she’s pregnant, and everything going on with Zoe, there was a lot going on in EastEnders tonight. Poor Suki and Eve, then, who almost felt overshadowed by the action taking place across the Square.

Eve and Suki sent mother in law from hell Norma packing yesterday, but she’s not through with them just yet. And they were shocked by the arrival of their adoption case worker, who revealed that Norma had provided the reference after all – and it was about as awful as you’d expect.

Has Norma ruined everything? And, if not, is something even worse lurking on the horizon for the hopeful mothers?

Elsewhere, Denzel made plans for his future.

Here’s everything else that happened in EastEnders tonight.

Unexpected adoption news for Suki and Eve

Still recovering from Norma’s visit, Suki and Eve were surprised by a visit from their adoption case worker. He revealed that Norma had provided a reference after all.

And it was about as scathing as one might expect – opening with the no-holds-barred sentence “my daughter and motherhood are words which should never be in the same sentence.” Ouch.

Still, even after blaming Eve (again) for the death of Erica, Norma’s bad reference wasn’t enough to completely torpedo their adoption chances. The case worker explained that Suki and Eve had been accepted for preliminary stages of the process.

But will it really be so simple? How will news of Ravi’s arrest affect Suki and Eve’s adoption chances?
