As Greg Dolan enacted his plan for revenge, a very different kind of confrontation was taking place across the Square. At Vicki’s request, Julie had arrived to try and talk some sense into Joel about his misogynistic beliefs.

At Vicki’s behest, Julie arrived to talk with Joel about his misogynism. She didn’t exactly get a warm welcome from the teen, but wouldn’t be swayed, and the pair sat down at the kitchen table to debate gender relations in 2025.

As they shared a cuppa, Julie revealed that she’d seen a few Drake Zagan videos, and she wasn’t impressed. As a surprisingly calm and rational debate took place, Joel rattled off his usual Drake Zagan talking points, while Julie shared her perspective as a woman.

What it all boiled down to, Julie soon realised, was Joel’s mommy issues. Spotting the lonely little boy inside, she warned him that he was set down a dark path.

Afterwards, Julie tried to reassure Vicki that, while Joel wouldn’t be so easily swayed, she was doing the right thing.

Having heard about the situation at The Vic, Joel ran over to see Tommy. He found him outside with Kat, with Dolan unconscious and police swarming Albert Square.

Wanting to impress his friend, Tommy lied, and told Joel that he’d been the one who knocked out Dolan. Joel was impressed by his pal’s show of alpha masculinity, and headed home to assert his own ‘dominance’ over the woman of the house.

Returning to find Vicki, he revealed his displeasure at being humiliated by Julie. Proving that she’d been very much unsuccessful, he warned her to never embarrass him like that again.

Is Joel beyond reason?
