As well as Ravi’s mental health spiral that led to a horrific car crash, the Mitchells also staged an intervention to help Lexi.

Lexi’s secret was revealed

After weeks of avoiding school, Lexi finally admitted that the reason she has been skipping classes. As the Mitchells gathered for dinner at Callum’s house, Phil intervened and tried to work out what his granddaughter had been hiding. She eventually opened up and told him that she didn’t want to be at school when Nigel died because she didn’t want a stranger giving her the news. Phil made a promise to drive to the school and tell her himself when the time came, and she seemed much happier.

Sam tried to get through to Phil

After helping Lexi, Sam decided Phil needed some tough love of his own. Once home, she told him Nigel’s pneumonia was getting worse. She revealed Nigel couldn’t swallow his antibiotics anymore and that his health was declining fast. But Phil didn’t want to listen, and Sam’s words fell on deaf ears.
