Zoe revealed that she’d given birth to Dennis’s babies last month, in the hope of getting Sharon to stump up for a Private Investigator. She was successful in convincing Sharon to fund the search for her son, but Kat’s been more dubious. Witnessing Zoe skirt around the issue of the babies’ father with her Private Investigator, Kat realised that Zoe is still keeping secrets from just about everyone. And, as she confronted her daughter, Zoe admitted that she’d lied about Dennis. Here’s what happened in EastEnders tonight – and what happens when Kat reveals the truth next week. Alfie attempted to keep the piece, but he couldn’t stop the women in his life from sniping at each other. Article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Hostilities were disrupted by Bert and Ernie, who informed them that something had gone bump in the barrel store. Turns out it wasn’t one of the twins’ pranks, nor the ghost of Dirty Den. No, a cat had become trapped downstairs. Or, specifically, inside a sewer pipe. This rather gross rescue mission served as a bonding moment for mother, daughter and the whole family. And, as Zoe fussed over her new kitty later, she and Kat shared a heart-to-heart. Having witnessed her lies and elusiveness yesterday, Kat pressed Zoe on why she’d stolen the cash and lied to her Private Investigator. Finding Dennis’s son was important to Sharon, Kat reasoned, so she needs to tread carefully. And it was then that Zoe admitted the truth: she’d been lying about Dennis being the baby’s father. Alfie tries to tell Kat to stay out of it, but she’s troubled when she learns that Ian has transferred Vicki money to assist with Zoe’s search. As the situation escalates, Kat blurts out the truth in front of the whole pub. As everyone reels from Kat’s bombshell, she comes to realise how deeply Zoe’s actions are affecting her family life and business. In the wake of that night’s events, Zoe decides to leave. But, while packing her bags, she discovers that someone’s smashed up a picture of her and Kat. When Kat denies being responsible, Zoe accuses Vicki instead. Meanwhile, Alfie discovers an old videotape from the 1980s in the barrel store. He wants to play it, but Zoe is worried about how Zoe will react to the Slater home footage on the tape. Regardless, Zoe walks in to find the video playing. Lashing out, she accuses Anthony and kicks him out of The Vic. Later, Anthony confides in Kat about his worries for Zoe. She’s convinced that someone is out to get her – but is there any truth to her paranoia? What else happened in EastEnders tonight? As Kat learned the truth about Zoe and Dennis, another Walford figure was out to clear their conscience. At the police station, Nigel attempted to confess to the police - although Julie's insistence on covering it up left him struggling for answers. Elsewhere, Johnny put his foot in with it with Billy after buying Lexi an expensive gift. Here's everything else that happened tonight. Julie lied to the police as Nigel confessed Following Nigel's confession, Jack accompanied him down the station, where Julie was waiting. Chastising her for lying to him, he marched inside to face the music - refusing Jack's suggestion that he use Julie as his appropriate adult first. In the interview room, Nigel struggled to recall details of the crash. But with no real memories of the what and the why, the police struggled to assess the validity of his claims. He then dropped Julie in it, telling the officers to ask Julie about what had gone on. She continued to deny Nigel's responsibility for the crash, telling the officers that Nigel had become confused and 'filled in the gaps' in a flight of guilt-ridden fancy. At the pub, Jack was grabbing a drink when George arrived. It was down to Jack to explain what had happened, revealing that Nigel was behind the attack. Released under caution, Nigel was furious to realise that Julie had lied again. Back on the Square, a furious George confronted Nigel, but soon softened when he realised how badly Nigel was feeling about the accident. Nigel returned home, where he continued to shut Julie out (quite literally, locking her outside with the chickens). Inside, a confused Nigel called out for Phil, becoming increasingly confused and despondent. After finally finagling her way inside, the pair shared a heart-to-heart, as Julie revealed how badly he'd betrayed her by running away for months on end. Realising how much the confession meant to Nigel, Julie finally relented, and they headed into the police station together, ready to make his confession. What will become of Julie and Nigel? Johnny spoiled Lexi with gifts Johnny joined Callum and Lexi for lunch with Billy and Honey. Spotting an opportunity to win the still-chilly Lexi over, he'd bought her the expensive bracelet - plus pricey charms - she'd been looking at on her iPad. This succeeded in putting Billy's nose out of joint, as he and the girls had been planning on buying Lexi that exact gift for Christmas. As Johnny headed off to play with his new best friend, Billy shared his concerns with Callum. As Billy asserted that Johnny was going about things the wrong way, Callum agreed to speak to Johnny. Callum's good intentions didn't last long though, and he kept tight-lipped as Johnny offered to whisk Lexi away to an Alessi Rose gig. Will Callum be able to put his foot down?
