EastEnders fans convinced Stacey will leave with Max - but after what she's just seen her exit is up in the air

Stacey makes a big discovery

EastEnders fans believe there is still a spark between Max and Stacey and that she will leave with him – but after what she spotted, that doesn’t seem likely.

Following appearances in the Zoe storyline, Max finally retuned to the Square this week, with mixed reactions from the residents.

Max and Stacey reminisced in EastEnders

Max’s arrival at Lauren and Peter’s wedding shocked everyone, not least his former flame Stacey Slater, who legged it upstairs in The Vic.

Stacey told Mo it was like seeing “some sort of ghost”. They were soon joined by Zoe, who has her own secret history with Max. Zoe warned Stacey not to go back to Max a third time. She then hotfooted it back downstairs and telling Max that Stacey is still raw over him and he should steer clear.

But of course that was never going to happen, and when Stacey left the pub, Max followed her. He told Stacey that he was sorry about what happened to Martin and also apologised for messing things up for her in the past.

But as they stood on Stacey’s doorstep, Max was also eager for Stacey to remember the good times. “Yeah, alright, the years go by and you regret things. But then you remember the moments, the special things, the good things. And there were good things, weren’t there?” he asked her.

As Max got emotional about the past, including losing Abi and not seeing his granddaughter, Stacey caved and invited him in.

They shared a moment

Over a glass of wine, Max told Stacey that he missed her. She was quick to insist he just missed that time in his life and reminded him that Martin was the love of her life.

Knowing that Stacey was single and they were both now alone, Max remarked that that made him want to stick around “just to see what happens”.

Stacey assured him that nothing would ever happen. But the two shared a brief moment causing her to tell him he should go. Max asked if that is really want she wants. But before Stacey could answer, they were interrupted by Zoe, who appeared to have a case of the green eyed monster.

After Max left, Zoe claimed she’d obviously got there at the right time. Though Stacey remained adamant that nothing was going to happen.

Will Stacey leave with Max?

Zoe and Lily convinced Stacey to go to Brazil after all, telling her the tickets are already paid for so she might as well.

Writing on X, one fan had a theory that Max would leave with Stacey. They wrote: “Possible Stacey exit theory. #EastEnders Stacey has a change of heart and decides to go to Brazil after all but leaves with Max Branning. Max then makes his full time return in December after leaving Stacey in Brazil. And comes face to face with Linda and his daughter Annie.”

But after what Stacey saw, will she want anything more to do with Max? As Zoe and Max chatted outside the pub, Zoe encouraged him to give their relationship another go. Max claimed it would be too chaotic. But that didn’t stop him kissing Zoe back when she leaned in.

However, unfortunately for them, Stacey was on her way over to the pub to tell her mum about her Brazil plan and she saw everything. As she stood there in shock, what will she do next?

What else happened in EastEnders tonight?

While Max Branning was focused on Stacey, his son Oscar was desperate for his attention. But Lauren warned him that their dad had a habit of letting people down.

Elsewhere, Harry believed he and Kojo were off the hook. But as he left for a short break with Gina, Okie was there to warn Kojo that his work wasn't done.

Here's a rundown of what happened in EastEnders tonight.

Oscar was happy to see his dad

Oscar seemed to be the only one excited to see his dad and desperately tried to hold his attention. Jack told Max that Oscar had turned his life around and was doing well and Max seemed proud of that fact.

Lauren later told Max that Oscar needed a dad right now. But Max was quick to push him away in order to chase after Stacey. Lauren warned her brother not to get his hopes up as this is what he does –  raising their hopes and then disappearing.

But later on, after Oscar introduced Max to Jasmine, Max put a smile on his son's face when he said he might stick around. Though, Peter was concerned as he pointed out his mum won't be happy to see him given Max killed her son.

Trouble in paradise for Ravi and Priya

Ravi returned home late and told Priya he had been out trying to sort work, that there is a dry cleaners and a restaurant with investment opportunities.

But Priya didn't want to know. She was angry at him always missing family time. Ravi tried to apologise, but then got distracted by his phone again.

Priya went and got dressed up to the nines and informed her partner that she was off out with mates.

Trouble for Kojo

Harry and Gina made their relationship official as he called her his girlfriend for the first time. To celebrate they decided to head off on a short break to Brighton.

Harry headed back to the flat to pack. He also let Kojo know that they were off the hook and that Ravi didn't need their flat any more. Telling Kojo they'd hang out like old times when he was back, Harry quickly headed back to Gina.

Okie appeared from one of the rooms and told Kojo not to trust Harry. He said that Harry will just let him down. Kojo told Okie he had to get changed for the wedding, but Okie warned him that was no longer happening as he had big plans for him.
