Grant and Sam left EastEnders tonight

After taking the blame for torching the cars, Grant told Max not to go to the police or else there would be a war.

Lauren insisted she would deal with it, got Phil to pay for the damage, plus some extra and told Max it was case closed. But Cindy waded in, telling Max he couldn’t let the Mitchells take him for a fool.

So Max called the police.

Just as Grant, Sam and Phil were enjoying a family roast together, Mark burst in and told Grant the cops were on the Square.

Lauren was fuming with her dad and decided to help Grant get away.

As he quickly grabbed his things, Sam decided to go with him to Portugal and in seconds booked a flight before packing. But Grant forgot his passport and had to race back.

Inside, Mark confronted him and they finally shared a moment of understanding. Although Grant asking Mark to call him dad went down like a lead balloon! However, Mark acknowledged what Grant had done for him and there was a sense these two could finally move forward.

Sam hurriedly said goodbye to Ricky out of the car window and then as the police were approaching the Mitchells’, Lauren stepped in to stall. It gave Grant the chance to get in the car and speed away to the airport.

Sharon returned

But just as Phil was driving his siblings out of Walford, a black cab was arriving and none other than Sharon Watts stepped out. She is back for Vicki’s wedding to Ross.

She had son Albie in tow as she got out of the car with her bags, heading straight for Kathy’s.

Sharon surprised her sister who was having wedding wobbles and told her she would never miss her big day. Vicki was thrilled to see her and there was a lot of screaming and squealing.

Fans declared they were “over the moon” to see her back in EastEnders.

Upset over Sam and Grant EastEnders exit scenes

However, the same can’t be said for Sam and Grant leaving Walford.

“Sharon just missing the Mitchell sibs is a crime,” stated one on social media.

Another added: “How can EastEnders see the scenes between Phil, Sam and Grant and let any of them go? This is truly their destiny in every way. They’re growing old together but destined to do it without a partner because they can’t keep a relationship but the family sticks together.”

Others were fuming over Sam’s rushed exit. “Sam deserved better,” said one. Someone else agreed: “Sam getting a rushed exit and not even a goodbye to Denise scene.”

“That final moment between Ricky and Sam – Sam deserved more time to say goodbye to her son,” added a third.

A fourth commented: “I really wish Grant would leave on his own and not take Sam with him.”
