Tonight in Walford (Monday, September 29), Peter put his plan into action and worked hard to prep The Vic for his and Lauren’s big day – even if she did have no clue what was happening. But, as it’s all systems go from this point on, Max Branning’s return in certain to add to the buzz in one way or another. Penny wants Lauren to be honest with herself (Credit: BBC) What happened in EastEnders tonight – Penny missed the ‘fun’ Lauren Peter was ready to secretly pull off his wedding plans to Lauren without her having an inkling of what was going on. Arranging for Penny and Lauren to go for a spa day, his plan risked failing due to Lauren’s reluctance to go. Article continues below Read all the latest spoilers A spanner was thrown into the works when the pair arrived at the spa to find it closed. Penny then suggested that they went out for a drink. She’d do anything for Lauren not to go back home to do the ironing. Admitting that she missed the ‘fun’ Lauren – the one she’d known in Paris, Penny managed to convince her to stay out for another drink which a group of ‘Love Island rejects’ bought them. The pair then started talking about Peter. And, Penny was very clearly not his biggest fan. Lauren then reckoned they’d be engaged for ages before ever actually marrying. Peter unveils his big surprise to Lauren (Credit: BBC) What happened in EastEnders tonight – Peter asks Lauren to marry him While Lauren Branning was being distracted by Penny, she had no idea that Peter had arranged for The Vic to be decorated and for Kathy to sort some ‘picky bits’ out for the big day. Their big day which would be today. Talk about spontaneous. He then messaged Lauren to meet him at the pub, with all of her loved ones gathered to celebrate what would hopefully be their wedding day. Peter Beale then got down on one knee again and asked Lauren to marry him today, even presenting her with a wedding dress to put on. It was fair to say that Lauren was completely shocked by the grand gesture. And, we don’t blame her. She then reassures a concerned Penny that she’s fine but then tries to make a run for it. Eventually though, Lauren prepares to marry Peter. She’s in for another shock though when Max Branning arrives on her big day. Walford residents are stunned to see Max again, especially Stacey and Zoe. Peter worries what Cindy’s reaction will be to Max’s arrival. With things turning sour, Lauren then orders Max to leave Walford. But, will he accept such a flying visit? What else happened in EastEnders tonight? Goodbye drinks for Stacey Stacey asked Lily one more time if she'd go to Brazil with her. Lily admitted that she longed for Stacey to be happy but she and Charli wouldn't be joining her. Needing a change of scenery, Stacey made her decision to still go and joined her family for drinks to mark her decision. Jean told everyone to be put a smile on their faces ahead of Stacey's goodbye from Walford. Okie was attacked Kojo was working on fixing up a black cab at the garage with Harry when he wanted to nip back to the flat to fetch his mini black cab for a photo. Harry warned Kojo not to go back to the flat but he failed to stop him. When Kojo entered the building, he found Okie curled up in pain after being attacked. Harry and Ravi then turned up to deal with the situation, with Harry worrying that Kojo was in serious danger if he stayed in the flat. Gina wasn't happy with Harry Due to the whole Okie situation, Harry completely forgot to get ready to attend Peter and Lauren's wedding with Gina. When Gina arrived at his door, he begged her for five minutes to get ready but by then she'd had enough. Harry had really blown it.
