What happened in EastEnders tonight: Lily made a big announcement and Lauren met up with Demi

Lily did a U-turn.

In EastEnders tonight (Thursday, September 25), Stacey and Lily started telling people about their planned move to Brazil, but then Lily shocked her mum with a big announcement.

Earlier in the week, Sean invited Stacey Slater and her kids to join him in São Paulo, where he is opening a new restaurant.

Lily was originally ecstatic about the idea, but after speaking to Ricky and Jack, she has got cold feet.

Stacey and Lily planned for Brazil in EastEnders

Lily shared her excitement with Stacey about moving to South America as she commented about going to the rainforest or a carnival and forgetting all the Walford drama.

Stacey confirmed that she had booked them one way tickets to Brazil. But their joyous mood was dampened when they remembered they had to break the news to Jean and Ricky.

Stacey ripped the bandaid off and broke the news to Jean straightaway. But Jean got the wrong end of the stick and thought she was invited too. “All these years I’ve been dreaming, and now I actually get to retire abroad,” she said.

As Stacey cleared up the confusion, Jean looked upset, but she tried to put on a brave face – even offering to make her famous fishy basket.

Lily changed her mind about Brazil in EastEnders tonight

Lily and Charli met up with Ricky, but Jack Branning tagged along. With Stacey waylaid by Zoe and Kat, Lily was forced to break the news about the Brazil move on her own.

Jack fumed at the news. He told Lily that Ricky sees Charli every day and Lily can’t just take her to the other side of the world.

Lily tried to defend her decision, telling them: “I know my mum acts all tough, but I can see she’s really hurting. Everything here reminds her of Dad. And I feel it too. I don’t think we can move on if we stay here. I don’t want Charli growing up around all that grief.”

Jack claimed he would fight the decision, but Ricky shut him down and gave Lily his blessing. But seeing Ricky tell Charli he’d miss seeing her every day made Lily feel guilty.

Back at home, Lily shouted at her mum for not being there. Once calm, Lily told Stacey she had to put Charli first, and announced: “Mum, you can go to Brazil, but me and Charli aren’t coming with you.”

Lauren met Demi

Penny searched for Peter’s friend Demi online and came across her burlesque photos. As she remarked that Demi was “thirsty”, Lauren still insisted she wasn’t bothered.

Penny took matters into her own hands though and messaged Demi to arrange a meet. The three women met in the cafe where Demi told Lauren she thought Peter was sexy.

Penny found that view amusing and told Demi: “Sexy? You know he goes red when lions do it on nature docs?” Lauren also shared a story about Peter’s toenail clippings to dispute his sexiness.

Things took a turn when both Demi and Lauren admitted to not having any mum friends and the two bonded. Peter walked in and was caught off guard to see Lauren and Demi together.

Rather than be pleased to see them getting on, he got in a sulk and walked out after believing the girls were making fun of him.

Peter made a big decision

Peter spoke to Ian and Kathy about Lauren’s reaction to Demi and asked if they thought it was weird that she wasn’t bothered.

Ian couldn’t resist a comment about himself having been a man in demand in his time. He then assured his son he should feel lucky that he has a woman who trusts him.

Lauren later explained her feelings, saying she is just proud that women find her man hot. She also added that he should enjoy the attention as it’s nice having a bit of excitement.

Lauren also mentioned how she likes spontaneity sometimes. This formed an idea in Peter’s head: He’s going to plan a surprise wedding for Lauren.

Oscar had all the moves in EastEnders tonight

Oscar showed that romance isn’t dead when he told Jasmine: “You might be the most beautiful thing I’ve seen on my phone since I ordered a quadruple cheeseburger on delivery.”

Just in case that chat up line didn’t work, Oscar tried to cement a date by showing her his ankle tag and stealing an item of clothing for her.

It seemed to work though as Jasmine gave him a kiss in the middle of the market. Unfortunately they were spotted by Cindy, who warned Jasmine off Oscar once again. She told Jasmine that Oscar had “more convictions than brain cells”.

Later on, Oscar had another gift for Jasmine – a gold necklace. She told him about being warned off by Cindy. But Oscar filled her in on “Psycho” Cindy’s past – including having to go into hiding after grassing on the Ford family.

Zoe and Kat in EastEnders

Zoe and Kat bonded

Zoe met up with Sharon and informed her she’d found a PI to help find her son – charging £3,500 no less. But Zoe was disappointed when Sharon wouldn’t just cough up immediately and instead insisted on doing a background check first.

Kat was concerned about what Zoe was getting into. But she started to understand when Zoe explained how she is excited about the prospect of getting to hang out with her son and cook for him.

Emotions were heightened further when Zoe pointed out that she doesn’t know where her little girl’s grave is. She said she is desperate to find her son and make up for everything.

Kat later confided in Stacey that she had an idea and asked Stacey to bring Zoe to the gardens. Once there, Kat presented Zoe with a forget-me-not flower, which they would plant in the corner. Kat suggested that could be Zoe’s daughter’s place in the absence of a grave – even if it was the place where Zoe used to drink vodka with Kelly.

Zoe was moved by her mum’s gesture and told her it was a lovely idea.
