With Jack feeling compromised by Ravi, he decided to bring his drug dealer neighbour down once and for all. But will Jack succeed in humbling Ravi? Elsewhere, Nigel got some shocking news about his marriage to Julie, and enlisted Phil’s help to get away from Walford. And, with Zoe still in hospital after the shooting, tensions remained high between her and Kat. Here’s everything that happened in EastEnders tonight. Jack’s feeling the pressure (Credit: BBC) Jack and Ravi covered their tracks in EastEnders tonight It was the day after the night before, and the shocked residents of Walford attempted to reckon with what had happened. At home, Jack had stashed the gun in his safe (officer Jack’s password? 1234). After ignoring a call from Ravi, he reassured Oscar that the shooting had nothing to do with the gun he’d found. Article continues below Read all the latest spoilers “This is London, mate,” he shrugged, telling him that he’d already handed the pistol in at the station. But Jack’s antsy behaviour soon had Denise suspicious, and visit from Ravi only increased the pressure. After hustling Ravi out of the house, Jack fielded a visit from DS Spencer, who had some questions of her own about the shooting. She’d turned up to ask questions about Ravi, who they’d already linked to the crime. Listening in, Jack’s failure to mention Ravi breaking into the house only raised Denise’s suspicions more, and she demanded to know what had happened last night. Palming Denise off with (terrible) excuses, Jack continued to agonise over what to do. Meanwhile, DS Spencer had already pulled Ravi in for questioning at the station. Deciding to play with fire, name-dropped Jack as his alibi. Sensing that Spencer was onto him and Ravi, Jack covered his tracks, and told her that he’d been trying to bring Ravi on as an informant. Jack was successful in convincing Spencer to let Ravi loose… but how much longer can their tentative alliance last? That didn’t last long (Credit: BBC) Jack decided to betray Ravi Back on the Square, Jack confronted Ravi over what the alibi. Reminding him that Jack had been the one who ‘pulled’ the trigger, Ravi demanded that he destroy the gun, smugly taunting him over their new partnership. From across the Square, Denise watched the pair’s fraught interaction, increasingly convinced that they’re hiding something. Later, back at home, Jack was preparing to dispose of the gun when he received another house call from DS Spencer. Having chewed over their earlier conversation, she told him that she’d much rather send Ravi down than bring him on board. Seemingly unconcerned by his copper colleague’s presence, Jack then took a call from Ravi, telling him that he’d have to take a raincheck on their little gun disposal date. Mind seemingly changed, he then set a plan into motion to betray his partner in gun crime. “Let’s do it,” he told DS Spencer. “Let’s get Ravi banged up.” Phil and Nigel hit the road (Credit: BBC) Nigel and Phil escaped to the country in EastEnders tonight Phil found Nigel pacing around the street, worried about the shooting. After confiding in Phil his worry that Julie was always on the phone, they were alerted to drama at home by panicked screaming from the woman herself. Rushing over, they discovered that David Peckham and the Spice chicks had been brutally torn to shreds by foxes. “I know what we’re having for dinner,” Phil joked, to Julie’s horror. Time and a place, Phil, time and a place. As the family bickered over whodunnit, Julie realised that it had been Nigel who’d fed the chickens last, meaning that he must have left the coop door open. As he attempted to apologise, Nigel grew upset, snapping at her for babying him and downplaying the chickens’ death. Talk turned to the state of their marriage as Nigel began to realise that things went deeper than the death of some (admittedly beloved) chickens. She admitted that they’d gone through a rough patch a few years ago – after she’d had an affair. Julie reassured him that the affair was ancient history, but Nigel was convinced she was cheating again. She revealed that the calls had been about a potential job at the local school, and with Nigel feeling patronised, things turned nasty. Packing a bag, he and Phil jumped into Nigel’s car for an escape to the country. Bye, Julie. Arriving in the countryside, Nigel revealed his plan – brandishing a shovel, he told Phil that they were there in search of buried treasure. What’s Nigel looking for? Zoe refused to open up to her family (Credit: BBC) The awkward Slater reunion continued As they tidied up at The Vic, Alfie left Freddie to look after the boys while he joined Kat and Zoe at the hospital. He arrived to find mother and daughter bickering, just like old times. Remembering what Zoe had said about someone being out to get her, Kat and Alfie pressed her for information on her mystery tormenter, but she was keeping tight-lipped. After learning that the shooting had been unrelated to her past, Zoe lashed back at their offer to stay at The Vic. Max, meanwhile, was still insistently trying to get in touch, and Zoe deleted another message from her phone as Kat and Alfie nipped out for a breath of fresh air. Outside, Alfie tried to talk Kat into taking a gentler tack with Zoe. Also on EastEnders tonight Callum shared an awkward interaction with former lover Johnny. They’re still keeping their distance, but can Callum continue to resist temptation? With the residents pointing fingers over the shooting, Denise took great pleasure in winding up a raging Priya by hinting that Ravi might be hiding something.
