WARNING: The below article contains spoilers for tonight’s episode of EastEnders, which is available on BBC iPlayer but has not yet been aired on BBC One – in which the sexuality of Oscar Branning is confirmed.

The return of Oscar to EastEnders last night (Monday, July 15) had fans speculating about his sexuality. After being released from the local Young Offender’s Institute, Oscar wasted no time in flirting with every man and woman in his path – including brother-in-law-to-be, Peter Beale.

Cheeky chappy Oscar’s flirty banter had some wondering whether he might be gay, bisexual, or simply very comfortable with his sexuality. The truth is revealed in tonight’s episode of the soap (available now on BBC iPlayer, and airing on BBC One at 7.30pm) as Oscar shares a heart-to-heart with uncle Jack.

Oscar Branning confirms his sexuality in EastEnders tonight

Sitting down for a chat in McKlunky’s, Jack pressed Oscar over what floated his boat. In this scene, Oscar appeared to confirm that he’s bisexual, telling Jack: “both ways, innit.” He then revealed that he’d had a girlfriend before being imprisoned… but had been more attracted to her father!

Describing his nephew as a ‘mini bisexual Max Branning,’ Jack fretted that ‘no-one in Walford’ would be safe. During this enlightening conversation, talk also turned to Oscar’s absentee father.

He revealed that he’d not seen his dad since Christmas 2022, and wondered aloud whether he was the reason Max had disappeared from their lives.

Jack responded with a promise to look out for his nephew… as well as the people of Walford, who surely won’t know what hit them.
