EastEnders fans fear soap is ‘foreshadowing’ Oscar’s death as threats ramp up: ‘good luck Oscar’

Is Oscar in danger?

Fans of EastEnders have shared their fear that the soap is teeing up for the death of Oscar Branning, following recent threats made on his life. Oscar is persona non grata with his former associates, after supposedly shopping them to the police over a disastrous joy riding incident.

Oscar’s been getting threats from Fat Mike since arriving in Walford, with a series of messages to his phone informing him that he’s a dead man. Mike escalated things last night (Thursday, July 25) when he broke into Lauren and Peter’s home and threatened Oscar with a knife.

Young Oscar is clearly in danger – and viewers are worried that EastEnders is setting the Brannings up for another fall.

Soap ‘foreshadowing’ death of Oscar, fans fear

Prior to Mike’s return, Oscar opened the front door of his home to show a one-night stand out. In the foreground, an ominous, lingering shot of what appeared to be the roof of The Queen Vic.

“I hope this isn’t foreshadowing. I don’t like seeing the Vic roof and a Branning child at the same time given their past,” wrote one fan on Reddit.

“The vic roof yearns for branning blood!!!” commented another.

“that pan down ? Ugh good luck Oscar,” a third agreed.

“Mike chases Oscar, Oscar runs up to the roof of the queen vic and it takes another branning,” predicted a fourth.

Could Oscar make his maker on (or off) that same roof?

The Branning family and the roof of The Queen Vic – a bloody history

As many have pointed out, the Branning children have a painful history with the roof of The Queen Vic. Oscar and Lauren’s half-brother, Bradley Branning, was the first to meet his end on the pub roof.

On the run from the police after being accused of Archie Mitchell, Bradley climbed up onto the roof. However, he lost his footing while up there, and fell to his death on the Square below.

Almost eight years later, and the Brannings found themselves on the roof of The Vic again. Lauren and sister Abi had been on the roof trying to talk down dad Max, who was attempting to take his own life.

Instead, both Abi and Lauren slipped, and both girls were left fighting for their lives. While Lauren recovered from her injuries, Abi was declared brain stem dead, and her life support switched off a few weeks later.

Oscar Branning take note, and steer well clear!
