'That was iconic!' EastEnders fans make shock prediction after unexpected Chrissie and Cindy scene

It's the scene we didn't know we needed...

EastEnders fans have watched Jasmine’s murder confession drama unfold this week, along with Linda turning down Max’s advances and George and Nicola announcing they are having a girl – but what really got everyone talking was an iconic scene between Cindy Beale and Chrissie Watts.

The moment came in yesterday’s EastEnders when Chrissie went to The Albert.

Having just had a huge argument with Jake Moon, she was ready to flee Walford without him. But he begged for an hour to put things right.

While she waited for him to get back, Chrissie kept herself busy having a drink. But as she needed to avoid the Jasmine drama unfolding in The Vic, she opted for Cindy’s bar instead.

Chrissie and Cindy have an iconic meeting

As the women met for the first time, bonding over their shared love of Oscar Wilde quotes, they realised they had connections on the Square.

Cindy queried Chrissie’s surname and they realised they both knew Sharon, while Cindy was forced to admit she had gained the Beale name by marrying Ian.

As the women talked, fans couldn’t get enough of the unexpected scene, calling it a moment they didn’t know they needed, but loved! They also predicted that the pair could be best friends.

Fans couldn’t be happier

“Cindy and Chrissie interacting with each other – I didn’t know we needed it, but it was so good!” said one fan on X.

Another viewer agreed: “Cindy and Chrissie = Iconic!”

Another fan believed that the pair could have been friends, given half a chance… “Chrissie and Cindy meet! Looks like they could be the best of friends!”

Someone else agreed that the two characters would cause huge drama if Chrissie was to stay in Walford… “Legendary scenes in The Albert as Cindy Beale and Chrissie Watts cross paths for the very first time. Love or hate Chrissie – this moment was ICONIC! Imagine the chaos Cindy and Chrissie would create if Chrissie were staying on the Square full-time!”

We need more Chrissie and Cindy in EastEnders!

Sadly, that was the only time we would see Chrissie and Cindy together for now. Shortly after meeting Cindy, Chrissie went back to the Square to meet Jake.

As he got down on one knee and proposed, Chrissie initially turned him down. However, some gentle persuasion from Jake saw her soon change her mind.

But unfortunately, we won’t be seeing a Walford wedding any time soon. As the pair celebrated their engagement with a kiss, police sirens approached, and Chrissie panicked that they were coming for her.

Convinced that Jasmine and Kat had framed her for Anthony’s murder, Chrissie decided to make a swift exit from Walford.

Jake and Chrissie might have got their happy ending, but let’s hope we don’t have to wait too long before we see Chrissie and Cindy becoming friends.
