Mysterious Jasmine told the police that she’s Zoe’s child this week, confirming a widely-held fan theory. And, with Zoe and the other residents of Albert Square yet to find out (no-one knows that Zoe’s daughter is even alive, other than Anthony\), Jasmine shared a drink with her mum in last night’s episode. As Jasmine subtly questioned Zoe over her past, Zoe unwittingly revealed that she’d never wanted children… unaware that she was really speaking to her long-lost daughter. The truth is bound to come out eventually (and we’d wager, over Christmas), but will Jasmine live long enough to enjoy a proper reunion with her mum? Recalling the saga of Ronnie Mitchell’s own long-lost daughter, some wondered if EastEnders might be so bold as to let lightning strike twice. Soap fans will remember how another former child of adoption once arrived in Walford, in search of her birth mother. This was Danielle Jones, who forced Ronnie to put her newborn daughter up for adoption, after disapproving of her teenage pregnancy. Years later, and Danielle tracked Ronnie down to Albert Square. Tragically, she died before the pair could share a happy reunion – run over by Janine Butcher just as Ronnie realised who she was. Rushing out to find Danielle Ronnie called out to her just as Janine careened around the corner, accidentally running her down.
