Another clue fits into place

WARNING: This article contains spoilers for today’s episode of EastEnders, which is available now on BBC iPlayer, but has yet to air on BBC One – in which another clue to Jasmine Fisher’s past emerges.

Another clue to Jasmine Fisher’s mysterious past emerges in EastEnders today (Wednesday, October 20), in the wake of Nigel’s car crash. Jasmine and Gina were left fighting for their lives this week, as Nigel hit them both (but mostly Jasmine) with his car.

And, as she lay injured on the ground, Jasmine offered a tantalising hint as to what’s brought her to Albert Square.

“She’s ruined everything. She needs to pay for what she did,” Jasmine told Nigel, before passing out.

And, at the hospital, Oscar grew suspicious when he learned that Jasmine had told her mum not to bother coming down to visit her.

EastEnders reveals another clue to Jasmine Fisher’s past in early release

Nigel visits Jasmine in hospital today, desperate to learn whether he was responsible for the accident. In doing so, he questions her over what she’d said.

Covering for herself, Jasmine lies and tells Nigel that he hadn’t been at the scene of the accident. She then grows angry, and tells him to leave.

Later, Oscar grows suspicious when he finds a fruit basket in her room. When he asks Jasmine why she told her mum to stay away, she tells him that her mother lives abroad.

She then makes Oscar leave too. Once he’s gone, she opens the card from within the fruit basket.

“Rest up and get well soon,” the card reads. “We need you on top form.”

Nigel handed himself into the police

Neither Jasmine nor Julie’s lies could throw Nigel off the scent though, and he soon found the evidence he needed that he’d been responsible. After dismissing Julie’s latest set of lies, he decided to do the right thing, and confessed to Jack.

“I need you to arrest me,” he told Jack, as the episode ended.

Nigel faces police questioning in EastEnders tomorrow – but what does his confession mean for Julie? And will Jasmine’s words come back to haunt her?
