We’re bewildered by Okie still keeping Harry prisoner, we’re baffled by what Jasmine’s up to, and we can’t wait to find out! Plus Zoe’s big bombshell about her baby daddy was anything but! Here’s what we thought of all the action in our EastEnders review. Nigel felt terrible about the accident (Credit: BBC/Composite: EI) Nigel and the car accident This week’s big story was Nigel heading out in his beloved classic car (hope he remembered to pay his ULEZ charge) and knocking over Gina and Jasmine. Both of the young women were injured, and taken to hospital, while shocked Nigel tried to piece everything together. The crash itself was a bit odd. As Nigel drove through the Square, there were lots of people around, and background noise. As soon as he hit the women, it was deserted. We’re not sure why Jasmine was bleeding so badly from her abdomen when Nigel’s car rammed into her legs. Nor why she was up and about and walking – with crutches admittedly – just a few episodes later. Article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Anyway, this all feels like an unnecessary complication in Nigel’s already complicated life. It’s too much. Except, we liked how it brought up some questions about Jasmine… Who sent Jasmine’s card? (Credit: BBC) What’s Jasmine’s story? We already know that Jasmine is very interested in Cindy Beale. And when she was lying in the street, badly injured she said: “I can’t die like this. She’s ruined everything. She needs to pay for what she did.” Who is she?! And what did she do? Was Jasmine talking about Cindy? Or is there another Albert Square resident she wants revenge on? Later, when Jasmine was in hospital, she claimed a fruit basket she’d been sent was from her mum. But the card inside said: ‘Rest up and get well soon. Need you back on top form.’ Intriguing! Who needs her? Is she working for the Fords – Cindy’s enemies? Plus there was a question mark over Jasmine’s mum – the nurse said they’d called her but Jasmine said she didn’t want her to come. According to the nurse she “didn’t want a fuss”. What’s all that about then? Harry’s situation continues to worsen (Credit: BBC/Composite: EI) Harry is still in chains And we still don’t care. Johnny’s doing everything wrong (Credit: BBC) Johnny’s friend Tim in our EastEnders review Johnny Carter is – we are afraid to say – a bit of a muppet. He’s treating the whole Lexi thing very badly indeed. Lexi is a little girl who’s lost her mum tragically young. She’s seen her dad go to prison and her stepdad vanish into thin air. And now her other stepdad Callum’s got a new fella, Johnny. Has Johnny (or Callum, in fact) so much as Googled the best way to deal with this? No he has not. He’s just barrelled in there, announced they’re together, has basically moved in, and now he’s throwing money at Lexi and trying to buy her affection. This is not good. Anyway, we’re also doubting Johnny’s judgement when it comes to his uni friend Tim. Tim’s smooth and handsome, he wears coloured suits. He keeps telling Johnny they’re going to have fun setting up their new law practice. He just reeks of being a con artist, right? We reckon poor Sausage is about to get well and truly stuffed. What else is Zoe hiding? (Credit: BBC/Composite: EI) Zoe’s massive bombshell in our EastEnders review We were a lot less surprised than Kat was when Zoe announced that Dennis Rickman wasn’t the father of her twins. We all knew she was lying, didn’t we? But we were surprised by how little Zoe engaged with the private investigator. Why didn’t she answer any of her pretty basic questions? Does she not want to find her son after all? Is she keeping more secrets? We’re almost beginning to wonder if her son has grown up with his dad. Whoever he is.
