Although speculation is rife Jasmine is the long-lost daughter of Zoe Slater, in fact, the clues are now suggesting it’s Cindy she’s here for. The new character made her debut this week, looking for a job at Walford bar The Albert. She quickly made an impression on Cindy who agreed to give her a gig. But according to a new fan theory, Cindy is going to seriously regret the decision… Jasmine made her debut this week (Credit: BBC) Jasmine in EastEnders This week, Jasmine rocked up to Albert Square, and managed to bag herself a job at The Albert. She also caught the attention of Oscar Branning, who is keen for a romance. In Wednesday’s episode (September 24) Jasmine was back at work, getting to know Cindy and manager Elaine Peacock. However, throughout the instalment, Jasmine’s behaviour sparked some concern… Article continues below Read all the latest spoilers After Cindy dished the dirt on her own wild life, Jasmine laughed along calling her “iconic.” But when Cindy walked away, her smile dropped. What’s more, when Elaine told Jasmine to bring her ID and documents in for the job, Jasmine appeared sheepish and shrugged it off. In Thursday’s episode (September 25), released early on iPlayer, Cindy warned Jasmine off Oscar again after she saw them kissing. So Oscar dished the dirt on Cindy’s past. He told Jasmine Cindy had faked her own death and that pricked Jasmine’s ears up. “Do you know why?” she asked him. And he told her it was because she grassed on a gangster called Jackie Ford. Jasmine then queried: “Where are they now, this place ain’t going to get torched, is it?” Oscar brushed her off, but the interest from Jasmine, plus the comment about a fire, has certainly sparked interest. Was it foreshadowing what’s to come? She is growing close to Cindy (Credit: BBC) Fans ‘work out’ Jasmine is connected to Cindy and Jackie Ford in EastEnders And now, fans have ‘worked out’ the identity of Jasmine. On X, one person claimed she could have links to Jackie Ford, the criminal who was responsible for Cindy going into witness protection almost 30 years ago. “So is new girl Jasmine part of Jackie Ford’s family out for revenge against Cindy? Jasmine Fisher/Jackie Ford, mysterious family…” said one person. Someone else pointed out: “Mmmm I think Jasmine may be on the Square for something related to Cindy rather than Zoe,” referring to a fan theory about Jasmine being Zoe Slater’s long-lost child. “Wonder if Jasmine’s ‘criminal’ family are the ones who were after Cindy in jail… she was very cagey about giving her details…” agreed one more. A fourth wrote: “So, it’s been alluded to that Jasmine comes from a criminal family. And then she gave Cindy a very definite look as Cindy walked away… I have a feeling she’s related to Jackie Ford – Cindy’s cellmate she agreed to give evidence against.” Could Jasmine be out to get Cindy? Who was Jackie Ford in EastEnders? Fans will recall that in 2023, Cindy returned to the soap after over 20 years of being presumed dead. In 1998, Cindy apparently died in prison while giving birth. But that wasn’t the case, as she actually was placed into witness protection. This was due to her sharing information about her criminal prison mate Jackie Ford, as part of a plea bargain. After taking on a new name Rose Knight, Cindy was informed in 2023 that Jackie had died and had no family still alive, meaning that Cindy could regain her original identity and return to Walford for good. But was that false information? Is Jackie’s legacy living on? And have recent scenes foreshadowed danger for Cindy? So, it’s been alluded to that Jasmine comes from a criminal family.
