International EastEnders fans baffled as soap ‘disappears’ from Britbox amid schedule shake-up

International EastEnders viewers have been left confused as the soap disappeared from Britbox amid a week of upheaval in the UK. With Wimbledon airing on BBC One on Monday and Tuesday, EastEnders has yet to air on BBC One this week – although episodes have been dropping as normal on iPlayer.

While viewers in the UK have been able to catch this week’s episodes on demand, those in the USA haven’t been so lucky – as the ‘missing’ episodes haven’t yet been uploaded to Stateside provider Britbox.

US EastEnders fans slam ‘missing’ episodes amid schedule shake-up

Taking to social media to vent, stateside viewers shared their frustration at the lack of EastEnders this week.

“When is EastEnders coming back on in the US on BritBox/PrimeVideo? We got like, 4 episodes all at once last week I’m assuming due to our 4th of July holiday on Friday?? But nothing yesterday Monday and hopefully today we’ll get a new one!” exclaimed one fan on Reddit.

“I’m getting SO sick of this,” said a third.

This is due to the current upheaval caused by Wimbledon this week – meaning that the episodes haven’t been uploaded as they haven’t ‘aired’ here yet.

Britbox issues EastEnders update

The provider has released an update to fans over on X, promising fans that it will be ‘back soon’ once normal service resumes on BBC One and iPlayer in the UK.

“No EastEnders this round—UK scheduling shifted for a sporting event. Back soon, we promise!” Britbox said in a post via X yesterday.

What’s happening this week?

International fans will be waiting on tenterhooks to see the outcome of Bernie’s theft of the Panesar’s cash. Now hard-up, Ravi resorts to old habits in order to make some cash. But, when the police pass by a meeting with a dealer, he’s forced to stash his car in The Arches.

Harry and Kojo are horrified to discover the contents of the boot. But things go from bad to worse when the drugs disappear.

Elsewhere, Callum and Johnny give into temptation again, and Lauren is forced to confess to kissing Jimmy.
