After today’s episode (Thursday, February 5) saw Alfie talking to his little brother Spencer, viewers think he’s also set for an Albert Square comeback. First, he was mentioned when Vicki dropped her cheating bombshell on Ross. As they talked about how the pair of them got together, Spencer’s name came up in the conversation. Fans will remember that Vicki used to date Alfie’s little brother, but left him for Ross while they were in Australia. Today’s EastEnders sees Spencer mentioned again when Alfie talks to him on the phone. He tells Kat that Spencer is struggling after learning the news that Vicki and Ross are getting married. Kat encourages Alfie to book a trip to see Spencer, and by the end of the episode, Alfie had organised his flights and was waiting for a visa to come through. A second viewer agreed: “Another Spencer mention, with Jake returning next week, could this year be the year of the Moon?” Fans on Reddit have also been talking about Spencer’s potential return, perhaps with a new actor in the role. “Poor Spencer. Wonder if he returns with a recast,” said one fan. Another added: “I feel like a Spencer return is imminent after that! There has been no official announcement from EastEnders to suggest Spencer is coming back to the soap. However, with Joel Beckett returning to his role as Jake Moon, you never know! Who is Spencer Moon in EastEnders? Spencer is Alfie Moon’s younger brother, who hasn’t been seen in the soap for more than 20 years. He arrived in Walford in 2002. He then left the show in 2005 when he went to live in Australia with his then-girlfriend, Vicki Fowler. If Spencer were to return to the sop the part would likely be recast. It was reported by The Sun last year that Christopher Parker, who originally played the role, has since quit fame and now works as a solicitor.
