While some cringed at the scenes, most were happy to have a bit of humour back in Albert Square after a series of dark and upsetting events. Viewers watched bemused as she then flashed Martin through the window – all behind the back of Ted Murray who was chatting to his wife’s ashes. Red-faced Martin, who had spotted Ted sitting outside, ushered his wife inside quickly. However, hearing a noise, Ted did discover the pair getting fruity in the shed and quickly hid Joyce’s ashes under his coat as a mark of respect. She said: “That scene where Ted talks to Joyce then Stacey and Martin in the background. Has me both sad and laughing.” Another joked: “Need Dot to walk in on Martin and Stacey at some point with an ‘oh I say’.” One remarked: “The scenes with Martin & Stacey are absolutely hilarious lately.” Stacey and Martin have rekindled their relationship in recent weeks, after a period of estrangement.
