In last week’s episodes, the fallout from Christmas continued as Kat attempted to clear Zoe of killing Anthony. Meanwhile, Jasmine revealed the truth about her identity to a shocked Patrick, as Max made a vow to his children. The drama continues in spoilers for January 5-9, as Harry pursues his revenge, Phil has second thoughts about Nigel’s future, and the fallout from Christmas still affects one family. It’s the year of Max Branning EastEnders made history with a whole episode dedicated to Max Branning’s future in Walford. Set on January 1, 2027, this explosive flashforward revealed that a tumultuous year is on the cards for Max – not least his impending wedding to a mystery woman. Libby returns in EastEnders spoilers Among the revelations of Max Branning’s flashforward episode was the news that Libby Fox will be returning to Albert Square! Denise’s booksmart daughter left Walford in 2010, and hasn’t been seen since. Viewers won’t have to wait much longer for her return though – as Max’s flashforward revealed that she’ll be back before the year is out! But what brings Libby back to Walford? Someone killed Anthony on Christmas Day (Credit: BBC) 3. Who killed Anthony? Anthony Trueman was killed in a shock-filled Christmas in Walford. He’d turned nasty after learning that Zoe had kept the truth about his twins from him, and a struggle broke out upstairs in The Vic – during which he knocked Zoe unconscious. When she awoke, Anthony was dead. Zoe handed herself to the police, who have charged her with Anthony’s murder… but did she really do it? With Zoe currently awaiting trial for the crime, Kat has made it her mission to track down the woman she thinks is really responsible, a vengeful Chrissie Watts. But do we know for a fact that Chrissie killed Anthony? And, if she did, to what end? Jasmine is Zoe’s daughter (Credit: BBC) 4. The search for Zoe’s twins continues in EastEnders spoilers The rumours were true – Jasmine is Zoe’s daughter! Jasmine dropped her bombshell in the run-up to Christmas, revealing that she’d been working with Chrissie Watts to torment her long-lost mum. Chrissie fled soon after Anthony’s death, leaving Jasmine questioning everything she thinks she knows about Zoe and her past. But what became of Jasmine’s twin brother? Harry’s got it in for Ravi (Credit: BBC) 5. Harry’s out for revenge The nu-Mitchells struggle in the wake of recent events, with Teddy gone, Harry in the grip of drug addiction, and Nicola pregnant with George’s child. Harry may have survived his latest overdose, but he’s far from ready to move on. And, as the story continues over the Christmas period, Harry is out for revenge. Blaming Ravi for everything that’s happened, Harry targets his former boss, to Nicola and Okie’s horror. Phil tries to talk Harry into taking a more measured approach, but Harry misconstrues it as confirmation that he should seek revenge. What does Harry have planned for Ravi? Nigel’s future revealed in EastEnders spoilers Following an emotional Christmas period for Nigel, he came to accept that Phil and Julie will need more help with his care. The trio have begun looking at care home options, but it soon becomes clear that neither Phil nor Nigel are ready to say goodbye just yet. What does the future have in store for Nigel? Whatever the case may be, there’s bound not to be a dry eye in the house when the time comes for Nigel to bid farewell to Walford. Sam returned to Walford (Credit: BBC) 7. Sam’s cancer fears continue in EastEnders spoilers Sam Mitchell returned to Walford in EastEnders this week, stepping out of the shadows from where she’d been secretly spying on Zoe. But, rather than returning to torment an old frenemy, Sam’s return came as fears for her health grew. Jack and the family tried to convince her to get help for the lump she’d found on her breast, but were dismayed when Sam skipped out on the doctor’s appointment. And what was she doing instead? Fleecing poor vulnerable Nigel, of course. Good-hearted Nigel convinced Phil to forgive Sam for her recent transgressions, putting her back in her family’s bosom when her worst fears came true, and she was diagnosed with cancer.
