And the drama is going to keep on coming as new show boss Ben Wadey gets his teeth stuck in and keeps on bringing the good stuff. In this week’s episodes, Teddy Mitchell learned his fate as he stood trial for Okie’s murder, while a devastated Harry suffered another overdose. Meanwhile, Oscar got a big surprise as he celebrated his 18th birthday at The Albert. The drama continues in spoilers for December 15 – 19, as Linda and Max both return to Walford, just as a devastating house fire breaks out at Lauren and Peter’s place. But what happens after that? Max vs Cindy With Max Branning set to return to Walford, the soap has quite the showdown on its hands when he finally comes face-to-face with Cindy Beale. While the families attempt to keep the two parties separate, the mother of all confrontations looms as Peter and Lauren celebrate baby Jimmy’s christening. And, as the families gather at the Church, they’re shocked when Max saunters through the doors, bold as brass. Max Branning makes EastEnders history in EastEnders spoilers Max and Cindy’s christening clash is only the start of his return, though. On New Year’s Day, he will star in a special flashforward episode of the soap, set on January 1, 2027. In this mysterious flashforward, Max will navigate a precarious situation which has far-reaching consequences for himself and his entire family. While the precise details are yet to be revealed, star Jake Wood has teased that the episode will be ‘jam-packed’ with drama. What trouble has Max gotten into this time? Zoe gets a surprise at Christmas (Credit: BBC) 3. Zoe’s Christmas shocks as the search for her son and her stalker continues Zoe Slater made her surprise return earlier this year, amid a cloud of mystery and lies. After months of speculation, the soap finally revealed what Zoe had been up to since leaving Walford in 2005. She’d given birth to twins in 2006, and given her surviving son up for adoption. Zoe’s launched a search for her son, although her recent behaviour hasn’t done her any favours. After admitting she lied about Dennis Rickman being the father, she then faked a series of defaced pictures, making it look as though she had a stalker. Since then, multiple suspects have emerged. Could it be Jean Slater, still bitter about Zoe ‘driving’ daughter Stacey out of Walford? Or a smitten Anthony Trueman, targeting Zoe in an attempt to make her more reliant? Or even Sam Mitchell, having recently returned to Walford? There’s no shortage of suspects – so much so that it’s even overshadowed Zoe’s search for her son recently. Spoilers for the festive period have revealed that Zoe makes a shocking discovery in the weeks to come… but what is it? Jasmine returns to Walford after attacking Cindy (Credit: BBC) 4. The truth about Jasmine revealed in EastEnders spoilers Newcomer Jasmine Fisher quickly set the cat among the pigeons after arriving in Walford, bagging a job at The Albert, and entering a romantic relationship with Oscar Branning. However, it soon became very clear that Jasmine isn’t what she seems – and is working for someone rather dangerous. But who? Jasmine admitted to being from a family of criminals, leading some to speculate that she’s a member of the Ford clan, out to satisfy their vendetta against Cindy. Jackie Ford, if you recall, is the woman who Cindy informed on in prison, and was put into witness protection for. Jasmine only fuelled these rumours by attacking Cindy, leaving her and the Beales convinced that the Fords have returned. Jasmine left soon after that, but she’ll return to face Cindy’s wrath next week – as questions about her criminal past are finally answered. Is Jasmine a Ford? Harry’s got it in for Ravi (Credit: BBC) 5. Harry’s out for revenge The nu-Mitchells struggle in the wake of recent events, with Teddy gone, Harry in the grip of drug addiction, and Nicola pregnant with George’s child. Harry may have survived his latest overdose, but he’s far from ready to move on. And, as the story continues over the Christmas period, it looks as though he’s out for revenge. Blaming Ravi for everything that’s happened, Harry targets his former boss, to Nicola and Okie’s horror. Phil tries to talk Harry into taking a more measured approach, but Harry misconstrues it as confirmation that he should seek revenge. What does Harry have planned for Ravi? Nigel will reunite with Pat and Barry Evans at Christmas (Credit: BBC) 6. Nigel’s ghosts of Christmas past in EastEnders spoilers As Nigel premieres his Christmas film at The Vic, emotions grow to a head, and his dementia symptoms intensify. During this time, Nigel’s mind becomes flooded with memories of the 1990s, where he begins to imagine conversation with old friends and neighbours. This includes late Walford icons Pat and Barry Evans, who will ‘return’ to the soap for one very special episode this Christmas. And, as the truth about Nigel becomes harder to ignore, Phil and Julie are forced to make a heartbreaking decision. With many fearing that this Christmas may be Nigel’s last, could the return of Pat (who previously visited Peggy Mitchell on her deathbed) be a sad omen of things to come? Safe to say, there won’t be a dry eye in the house. Sam’s coming back to Walford (Credit: BBC) 7. Sam’s cancer fears continue in EastEnders spoilers Sam Mitchell returned to Walford in EastEnders this week, stepping out of the shadows from where she’d been secretly spying on Zoe. Whether she has anything to do with Zoe’s stalker torment remains unclear for now… but it seems that she has enough on her plate without kicking off a feud. Not least her health concerns, which began she discovered a lump on her breast. Jack and the family tried to convince her to get help, but were dismayed when Sam skips out on the doctor’s appointment. And what was she doing instead? Fleecing poor vulnerable Nigel, of course. Good-hearted Nigel convinced Phil to forgive Sam for her recent transgressions, but will Sam get the help she needs?
